Notes
The work whose full name is Mecmûatü'l-vahdâniyye fî ma'rifeti'n-nefsi'r-rabbaniyye. The author named this work simply Irfâniyye. For this reason, it is seen that the work is recorded as two different works in some sources. It is the third of İbrahim Hakkı's works, which he refers to as five main books. It is thought that the work was dedicated to one of İbrahim Hakkı's sons (Çağrıcı 2000). The work was compiled in 1174/1761. It was copied by Yusuf Nesim in 1190/1776 while İbrahim Hakkı was alive (Çelebioğlu 1988: 31). The work has 495 pages. The first part is in Arabic until the 220th page, the second part is in Persian until the 420th page, and the remaining part is in Turkish (Çelebioğlu 1988: 31). The work was written in Turkish, Arabic and Persian. Four manuscript copies of the work are known. The work was generally written to explain the saying "Men arefe nefsehu but arefe Rabbe" (He who knows his self knows his Lord), which is narrated as a hadith. According to a copy of 166 pages, in the first part of the work in Arabic, in addition to the relevant verses and hadiths, there are selections from Hz. Ali, Gazzali, Kemal Paşazade, Ömer Akşemseddin, Molla Câmî, etc. In the second part, which is in Persian (c. 74 a. 1 34a), basically the same subject is touched upon and quotes from Molla Câmî, Feridüddîn-i Attar, Habîb-i Acemî etc. are included. The third part, in Turkish (lk. 134b, 166a), is again related to the same subject. Translations about "Men Arefe .. . . " from Gazzali's Kimya-yı Saadet and Bâbâ-yı Âlem's Vesâyâ-yı Hazret are included. The work ends with a historical poem (Çelebioğlu 1988: 31-32). İbrahim Hakkı says the following couplets about this work: My Life. In short, this book is like a soul. That is my fear. I will die. Let it fall into an ignorant animal. Keep it for the sake of your glory, O Lord. Let it fall to the brotherhood that remembers your owner with good. Ibrahim Hakkı gives the following advice at the end of this work compiled by selecting from fifty-nine valuable works: "Do not blame anyone, look at everyone with compassion, do not demand or command anything from anyone, leave external beauties and enter into inner beauty with good morals." (Altıntaş 1981: 37). More detailed information about this work is included in Hayranî Altıntaş's book Tasavvuf and Amil Çelebioğlu's Erzurumlu İbrahim Hakkı.
