Notes Gubârî's Persian verse work, written by taking Firdevsî (d.1020?)'s Şâh-nâme as an example. The work, known as Şâh-nâme or Süleymân-nâme, was published in the form of a mesnevi in 959/1551 upon the request of Suleiman the Magnificent (d.1566). It was written in the fe'ûl, fe'ûl, fe'ûl, fe'ûl meter. Gubârî stated in the preface of Shah-nâme, which was written in prose, that he wrote this work as a parallel to Firdevsî-i Tûsî's Shah-nâme, upon the sultan's wish. In the introduction part of Shah-nâme, after praising Allah and the Prophet, the ascension incident and the Hz. The birth of Muhammad is described. The section covering the subject covers Yavuz Sultan Selim's (d.1520) campaigns in Iran and Egypt, the first period of Suleiman the Magnificent and the events until the Syrian rebellion. In the work, the conquests and death of Yavuz Sultan Selim, the ascension of Suleiman the Magnificent, his war and heroism and character traits are mentioned, Ferhad Pasha, the letters sent to the rebels, the Syrian rebellion and the measures taken against it are described. There is no disconnection between the events in the Shah-name, which is written in a poetic style and epic language. The work also includes important information about the state organization, state institutions, some statesmen, the army, navy, weapons, defense and the deployment of the army in war. Unlike Firdevsî, Gubârî wrote his Şâh-nâme in the most realistic and chronological order, and described the wars and heroism of Suleiman the Magnificent and the events he witnessed personally. In addition to Turkish and Arabic words and terms, the work also includes Deri Persian and Pahlavi were also used, and odes and tercî-i bends were also included. The manuscript copies of this work, which is a eulogy, are in the Süleymaniye Library (Hekimoğlu Ali Paşa, nr. 764) and Manisa Provincial Public Library (Muradiye, nr. 1346).
