Notes	Prose Arabic written by Mehmed Hilmî (d. 1336/1918), who was born in Komotini and served in important government positions after completing his education, for the Kasîde-i Nûniyye, also called Cevâhirü'l-Akâ'i, of the Ottoman scholar and the first judge of Istanbul, Hızır Bey (d. 863/1459). commentary.Kasîde-i Nûniyye is a poetic treatise consisting of 105 couplets, and in each couplet a theological issue has been tried to be expressed concisely. After Mehmed Hilmî started the first part of his commentary with basmala, praise and salvela, Hz. He requests intercession from the Prophet, and then gives information about the Qasida-i Nûniyye and its sections, along with the reason for it (1-5). In the second part of the commentary, the existence of Allah, his attributes of selbî and sübûtî (6-30), in the third part, the focus is on voluntary actions, guidance and misguidance, hüsun and qubûh, reason and divine law, being held responsible for things that cannot be controlled, the concept of never-being adopted by Mutezile, the issues of sustenance and death (31-41). In the fourth chapter, the subjects of prophethood were examined from various aspects, issues such as the miracles of the saint were touched upon (42-69), in the fifth chapter, the afterlife states were explained (70-85), and in the sixth chapter, the terms faith and Islam and the relationship between faith and deeds were discussed (86-91). In the last chapter (92-105), the issue of imamate is examined. This commentary of Mehmed Hilmî is based on the verbatim interpretation of certain couplets by Hayâlî Ahmed Efendi, a student of Hızır Bey; It is a compilation of works that includes quotes from various sources on the science of kalam on only a few issues. This work of the author is mentioned in the source named Aydın Poets and Authors (Özkaynak 1944: 81). In the Turkish World Literary Encyclopedia (Ünver 2006: VI/265), Özkaynak is quoted and stated that Mehmed Hilmî commented on Kasîde-i Nûniyye. However, no information is given about the copies of the commentary in question in either source. As a result of the research, two copies of Mehmed Hilmî's commentary on Kasîde-i Nûniyye were identified, registered in the Süleymaniye Manuscript Library, Esad Efendi 1215 and Halet Efendi 419.
