Notes A symbolic verse-prose story about the love of Rose and Bülbül, written by Vâhidî in Persian. The work is a treatise, as stated by its author in the section titled "Der Beyân-ı Sebeb-i Te'lîf-i Risâle-i Gül ü Bülbül".  Yavuz from the introduction of Sultân bin Sultân es-Sultân Selîm Hân, which is a praise to the sultan, at the beginning of the work, which is mostly in prose, and the date statement tahrîren fî gurre-i recebü'l-mürecceb min-şuhûr-ı sene seb‘a vü 'işrîn ü tis'a mi'e (927/1520) at the end It is understood that it was written in the last periods of the reign of Sultan Selîm (d. 1520). The subject of Rose and Bülbül, in which the influences of Attâr's Bülbül-nâme and the unknown Bülbül-nâme are felt, is the complaints of the birds about the Bülbül and Bülbül's response, but the entire work is not devoted to this subject. As it is written at the beginning of the work, the situations of the author, Gülşe, Gül and Bülbül are presented to the reader, and the story of the birds and the nightingale is covered in nearly half of the treatise. Gül's response to Bülbül's belittling words, by declaring Bülbül's lineage, can be described as the most striking part of the work (For a summary of the subject, see Fazlî's Gül ü Bülbül). The discourse in Gül ü Bülbül is not artistic but understandable. The fact that the author is Turkish has a great impact on the comprehensibility of the language of the treatise. Vâhidî, the author of the treatise, thought in Turkish and created his work with short and medium-length sentences in Persian, thus creating a work in Persian in an understandable language. In the work, the sections titled jokes, stories and anecdotes, as well as the poems and couplets in between, are in verse, while the other parts are in prose. There is no work done on Gül u Bülbül, which consists of 15 lines and 14 leaves (28 pages), written in ta'lik calligraphy.
