Mehmed b. of Amasya, known as Deşîşî. Mustafa b. Prose Persian-Turkish dictionary prepared by Lütfullah. Et-Tuhfetü's-Seniyye ilâ Hazreti'l-Haseniyye, Tuhfetü's-Seniyye, famously known as Lügat-i Deşîşî, was completed in 988/1580 and was published in III. It was dedicated to Sokullu-zâde Hasan Pasha, who was the governor of Egypt between 1577 and 1590 during the reign of Murad II. Deşîşî Mehmed b. Mustafa wrote a long introduction in his dictionary and gave information about the reason for writing the work, its composition and sources in the introduction (Öz 1999: 128). While preparing Tuhfetü's-Seniyye, the author considered Lütfullâh Halîmî b. Ebî Yûsuf's Lügat-i Halîmî (copyright 850-872/1446-1467), Hatîb Rüstem el-Mevlevî's Vesîletül-Mekâsıd ile Ahseni'l-Merâsıd (copyright 903/1498), Hasan b. Huseyin b. İmâd el-Karahisârî's Şâmilü'l-Lüga (copyright 910/1504), Kemal Paşa-zâde Şemsüddîn Ahmed b. Süleyman's Dekâyiku'l-Hakâyık (copyright between 929-940/1523-1534), Ni'metullâh b. Ahmed b. He used Mübarek er-Rûmî's dictionary named Lügat-i Ni'metullâh (copy 957/1540) as a source (Öz 1999: 128). Tuhfetü's-Seniyye is a dictionary created based on the first and last letters in the arrangement of word items. The articles are accepted as chapters according to their last letters and the chapters are arranged in alphabetical order. The articles in each chapter are listed alphabetically according to their first letters. In addition, the first letters are classified as memdûde, maksûre, meksûre, mazmûme (Öz 1999: 128). There are more than 40 copies of the work that can be identified to date. Afyon Gedik Ahmet Pasha Provincial Public Library Nr. 18345 (H. 1015); Istanbul Nuruosmaniye Library Nr. 4843 (H. 1026); Istanbul Nuruosmaniye Library Nr. 4845 (H. 994); Istanbul Suleymaniye Library, Laleli Nr. 3558 (H. 1034); Istanbul University Rare Works Library, Nr. NEKTY01512 (H. 1024) are some of these copies. Among the copies that can be identified, the oldest is the copy registered in Nuruosmaniye Library number 4845 and was copied in 994 H. This copy, written in talik script and consisting of 437 leaves, has 27 lines on each page.
