Notes Sheikh Ebü'l-Hasan-i Harakânî's work on the principles of Sufism. Hijri IV. The full title of the work, which contains the sermons and advices, some sayings, allusions and legends of Harakani, who lived in the late 19th century and the beginning of the 5th century (Uludağ 1998: 93), is titled el-Muntahab min Kitâbi Nûri'l-ulûm min kalami el-Sheikh Ebi'l-Hasan el-Harakânî. It is understood from the phrase "A Selection from Nûru'l-ulûm" (al-Muntahab min Kitâbi Nûri'l-ulûm) in the title that the entire work is not available. Only this copy is available, and the whereabouts of the original of the work is unknown (Çiftçi yty.: 182, 185). Additionally, this work was not written by Harakani himself. It is recorded in the sources that it was written by one of his disciples after his death. The only manuscript copy of the work consisting of selections is in the British Museum Library (Kantarcı 1997: 19). The work is given at number 249 under the title "Lives of Saints and Sufis" in the first volume of the work titled Catalog of the Persian Manuscripts in the British Museum, prepared by Charles Rieu. The catalog also includes information about the manuscript (Rieu 1879: 342). The work, which is at the forefront in terms of Sufism and literature, contains important information about Harakani's teachings and his method in Sufism. The book is divided into ten chapters of unequal volume. There is no logical connection between the sections (Çiftçi yty: 193). Accordingly; first part; question and answer, part two; sermon and advice, third part; Hz. Hadiths of the Prophet, fourth part; God's blessings to him, chapter five; his appeal to God, chapter six; his excitement, chapter seven; inspiration to hearts, chapter eight; struggle, ninth chapter; his life story, chapter ten; It's about his miracles. Among these sections, Hz. The third part, which contains the hadiths of the Prophet, is not in the work (Çiftçi yty: 194; Can 2014: 44). Berthels about the work: "The most important feature that stands out in the style of this work is its extraordinary simplicity." Zebîhullâh-i Safâ (1911-1999), one of the famous literary writers and historians, said, "Nûru'l-ulûm has a very simple, fluent, sweet and attractive style" (Çiftçi yty: 200). It was written in 1220, one year before the death of Ferîdüddin Attâr (d. 618/1221). It is known that he included some of Harakani's words in his work titled Tezkiretü'l-Evliyâ (Uludağ 2007: 592-640). Apart from this, the first study about the work is dated 1914. In the work titled The Mystics of Islam, written in English by Reynold Alleyne Nicholson (1868-1945), some parts of Nûru'l-ulûm were translated and evaluated in the fifth chapter of the said work, "Saints and Miracles" (Nicholson 2016: 107-130; Nicholson 1978: 115-119). Another study about the work was done in 1927. Russian Orientalist Evgenii Eduardovich Berthels (1890-1957) published this work with an introduction in 1927. In addition, Part III of Iran Magazine, published in Russia in 1929 with its Russian translation. He published the volume with the title "Nûr al-ulûm Zhizneoisanie Sheykha Abu'l-Hasan Kharakânî" on pages 155-224. A total of twenty-seven articles of Berthels, including this work, were published in 1965 at the Tajikistan Academy of Sciences under the title Sufism i Sufiskaya Literatüre. The same work was translated into Persian by Sîrûs-i Îzedî and published as Sufism and Literature-ı Tasavvufa in 1356. It was printed in Tehran in . About the work was written by Muctebâ-yı Mînovî in Tehran, 1353 hş. In 1359 and by Abdurrefi-i Hakîkat in 1359 hş. There are also works published in (Çiftçi yty: 182-183). In Hakîkat's work, extensive information is given especially about Harakânî's life, creed, and worldview, and his place and services in Sufism are explained (Nagısoylu 2012: 361). In addition, the work is important in that it includes geographical information and pictures about the city of Harakan and the tomb of Harakani (Acer 2021: 245). In Turkey, Şenol Kantarcı, İbrahim Alanka and Hasan Çiftçi worked on the work.  In addition, he organized an international symposium specifically for Harakani at Kafkas University in 2012.
