Notes A Persian work in verse in which Neşâtî comments on the poems of Sultan Veled. The text, written in 1073/1663-64, consists of 452 couplets (Kaplan 1996: II). Tuhfetü'l-Uşşâk is a verse commentary that Neşâtî wrote in Persian, in the same meter, on 70 couplets selected from Sultan Veled's work titled Rebâb-nâme. Although Neşâtî stated at the beginning of the work that he selected 70 couplets and annotated them with five couplets, it was seen that the number of couplets selected from Sultan Veled in Akçay's critical text was 69 (Akçay 2020: 21). In the 24-couplet "cause of copyright" section of the work, Neşâtî, after stating that he took Şâhidî as an example in this work, states that he chose 70 couplets from Sultan Veled's book and wanted to connect them with five couplets, that is, he annotated them and named them Tuhfetü'l-Uşşâk. Akçay determined that the 70 couplets chosen by Neşâtî were taken from Sultan Veled's work called Rebab-nâme and showed them in his publication (Akçay 2020: 21). After "Sebeb-i royal", Neşâtî praised Pir Hüseyin Çelebi, who was the head of the Konya Mevlevi Lodge at that time, with the title "Der Sitâyiş-i Hazret-i Çelebi" (Akçay 2020:22). Although it is recorded in the sources that Neşâtî had poems in Persian, only one ghazal was available. The discovery and publication of this masnavi is important as it shows that Neşâtî knew Persian enough to write poetry. Two copies of the work have been identified: Nuruosmaniye Library 34 NK 2370/3 and Manisa Provincial Public Library Akhisar Zeynelzâde 45 Ak, Ze.168/2. The work was first introduced by Mahmut Kaplan (1996) and published by Gülçiçek Akçay (2020). For the poet's biography, see. “Neşatî, Ahmed Dede”. Turkish Literature Names Dictionary.
