Notes
A collection of faith, deeds and morals, known as Letâifu'l-Gıyâsiyye, is known as Letâifu'l-Gıyâsiyye, because Ahi Evren, a distinguished scholar who carried his name and influence to the present day with the Ahi Organization he founded in Anatolia, contributed significantly to the formation of the Islamic heritage in terms of culture, morality and economy, and served Islam with the works he wrote, presented it to Gıyâseddîn Keyhüsrev I, one of the Anatolian Seljuk Sultans. It is his work that deals with Islamic sciences as a whole. Letâif, the plural of the word Latife, expresses the subtle, beautiful and pleasant feelings in the spiritual structure of man. The author stated on the title page of the Selimiye copy that he named the work Letâifu'l-Gıyâsiyye because he wrote it in Persian in Konya and presented it to Gıyâsettin Keyhüsrev I. Ahi Evren prepared his work Letâifu'l-Gıyâsiyye in four parts and stated this clearly at the beginning of the first volume. It can be said that the composition of the work aims to bring together the Islamic sciences consisting of faith, deeds and morality as a whole. The work, written in Persian, contains verses from the Quran and Arabic phrases, and these are written in red ink. As a result of the research, only the first volume of the four-volumed work was identified. Other volumes have not been found yet. Evaluations about the work were made in the light of the information in the first volume. In the first volume, which deals with the science of belief in general, different titles related to the subject of belief are included. The subheadings of the chapters are called articles, the subheadings of the article are called chapters or bab, and the subheadings of the chapters are called different names such as burhan, vecih, evidence, nev'. Their subheadings are given different names such as introduction, adjective, wisdom, benefit (Bilgili 2018: 84). There are two copies of the first volume of the work in Turkey. These; Konya Mevlana Museum Library is numbered 1727 and has 182 pages. The other is; Edirne Selimiye Manuscript Library Nr. It is numbered 233 and consists of 102 leaves. The work begins with a method known as the classical style, that is, basmala, hamdele and salvele. While praising Allah, the uniqueness of His attributes and benefits are mentioned. At the last part of the second page, the author moves on to the salvele section, where he praises the sultan of the time without naming him. Ahi Evren states the purpose of writing his work at the beginning as "to give as a gift to friends". While expressing this, he first gives the Arabic text of the hadith that encourages gift-giving, and then gives its Persian explanation, mentioning the necessity of giving gifts to friends, and states that he collected his years of knowledge and experience in this book and gave it to his friends as a gift (Evren 1498: v.1b-2a). In terms of content, the work; In the first volume, he gave the science of creed/akaid, which covers faith and its conditions, which are the basis of Islamic sciences. In the second volume; He dealt with the science of fiqh, which includes the practical part of Islamic sciences. In the third volume; He studied the science of Ethics, which will enable faith and action to become a habit. The fourth volume covers the subjects of prayer and its conditions. This volume is included in the Selimiye copy as "The Science of Fiqh", "Secrets of the Science of Fiqh". Before explaining the topics, the author prays to God that this book will be useful and that he will stay away from hypocrisy and ostentation. Ahi Evren ensured a better understanding of the subjects he discussed in his work by proving them with verses and hadith texts, and added depth to his work by quoting from the Torah, Psalms and Bible while explaining some subjects. All of the quotations are in Arabic and most of them are abbreviated. Arabic texts were translated into Persian with explanations and their meanings were given. In the work, the author conveyed his perspective on Islamic sciences, and with the arrangement of the subjects, he aimed to teach the sciences and method reported in the hadith of Gabriel. Because the subject line almost coincides with the hadith of Jibril. For example, the question "What is faith?" in the hadith of Gabriel. The answer to the question "What is Islam/deed?" is found in the first volume. The answer to the question "What is goodness/morality?" is found in the second volume. The answer to the question is parallel to the topic covered in the third volume. With these topics, the author gives the impression that he prepared them to answer the questions in the hadith of Jibril (Bilgili 2018: 92).
