Date 987/1579
Notes It is a work of Hüdâyî, which talks about the events he experienced, the events that occurred, the dreams he had during the three years from the moment of his affiliation to Üftâde (984/1576) until his caliphate (987/1579), and includes the conversations he heard from his sheikh about the divine truths and secrets of the order. The full name of the work is: Kelimât âliye galiye ani't-tibri'l-meskûk câriye beyne Hadreti'ş-Şeyh ve beyne hâza'l-fakîr fî esnâi's-sülûk. This name clearly reveals the content of the work: High-value words in the form of "coined gold" that took place between Sheikh Üftâde and Hüdâyî during Suluk. He recorded it like a rûznâme/diary and kept notes during his travels, which lasted for three years. With the writing work completed on Friday, 9 Shawwal 987/29 November 1579, a 3-volume Arabic work emerged. The fact that the dates were written as month, day and year during the writing of the work gave the work a complete diary feature. After receiving a good madrasah education, Hüdâyî worked as a judge and a professor for a while. His scientific knowledge, professional experience and closeness to Sufism led him to carefully record what he heard from his sheikh. It is understood that Üftâde directed his disciples to dhikr, asceticism, worship and obedience in the initial period of his sulûk. In the following times, the conversations between them turned to wise topics such as property, kingdom, throne, eighteen thousand worlds, kashf, miracle, rank, state, bada, baka, sekr, sahv, union, manifestation, love, affection, monotheism, observation and unity of existence. The subjects of unity and multiplicity are explained here and there by including the thoughts of Sufis such as Bâyezi-i Bistâmî, Hallac-ı Mansûr, Cüneyd-i Bağdadî, Abdülkadir Geylanî, İbn Arabî, Mevlânâ Celâleddîn Rûmî and Sadreddîn Konevî. As a natural consequence of Hüdâyî's being a madrasah student, sciences such as tafsir, hadith, fiqh and sirah are also mentioned. This work is important not only in terms of Sufism but also in historical terms as it talks about the people and events of the time. Especially to the people that Hüdâyî had seen, known and witnessed up to that time; It is important in terms of the information it gives about his hometown, family members and teachers, such as Koçhisar, where he was born, and Sivirihisar, where he grew up. It is also possible to come across information about the basic features of the Celvetiyye sect described to Hüdâyî by Üftâde. From this point of view, Vâkıât can be considered as the joint work of the sheikh and the most valuable caliph he trained. In this respect, Vâkıât can be considered as the first written source of Celvetiyye. The most important subject of these diaries of Hüdâyî, called Vakıât, is dreams. Hüdâyî explains the dreams he had to his sheikh; He wants him to interpret it. Üftâde learned the secrets of dream interpretation from his sheikh Hızır Dede, so he interpreted Hüdâyî's dreams with merit and taught him this knowledge. Hüdâyî's ability to interpret the dreams of later sultans and their followers with merit is probably due to the fact that he learned this science well from his sheikh in this period. In addition to dreams, Vâkıât also includes representations, which mean seeing the truths reflecting from the world of examples in various shapes and forms. Although dreams are seen while asleep, representation is seen while awake or between sleep and wakefulness. Both dream and representation need interpretation. During the narration and interpretation of the subjects in Vâkıât, in addition to the verses, hadiths, companions and saint legends, the poems of lodge poets such as Yunus, Nesimî, Eşrefoğlu, Rûşenî; It is also seen that Persian couplets of Sufi poets such as Mevlana and Şeyh Sâdî are included. The method followed by Vâkıât while explaining the Sufi states and ranks is to enrich the states and ranks with appropriate legends of prophets, companions and saints. In Vâkıât, we can also find Turkish poems quoted from the divan of the sheikh, who sings the concepts of unity of existence: Come, oh, who built the city of my heart, who made eighteen thousand worlds subject to your command, who overthrew me from his ruin and released me to these provinces. You plundered my heart and took my mind. The one who makes me mad He cuts down the mountains of My existence The one who makes me feel free (Vâkıât, H. Selimağa – Hüdâyî 249 vr. I/7a) The oldest copy of Vâkıât is recorded in Hacı Selim Ağa Hüdâyî 250. This copy, which is stated to be the author's calligraphy in the record, is written in ta'lik script without dots and consists of two volumes. However, in comparisons made with other copies, it is understood that the work consists of 3 volumes and one volume of this copy with the author's line is missing. The Turkish Manuscripts Institution has recently prepared Vâkıât for publication in 3 volumes, with copy comparisons, and its Turkish translations are continuing. The first of the 3 volumes in Arabic has 986 pages, the second has 820 pages and the third has 822 pages.
