Notes	Mustafa Vahyî Efendi's work containing forty hadiths and commentaries. The hadith quoted in the introduction, "Whoever memorizes forty hadiths about the commandments of religion in my Ummah, Allah Almighty will raise him among the group of jurists and scholars" and different narrations such as "those who memorize forty hadiths will be in heaven" and "will be resurrected with the martyrs" were factors in the writing of the work. The work was dedicated to the sultan of the period, Abdülaziz Han (d. 1293/1876). Mustafa Vahyî Efendi introduced his work with three verses (Saff, 61/10-11; Ankebut, 29/69; Nisa, 4/150). Then, he gave the text of the hadith with the expression "Kale Rasulullah" and explained the hadith under the title "kavlühû" after giving information about the sources and authenticity of the narration during the explanation. Matters that are difficult to understand and questions that may be put forward by the readers are asked with the words "fein kulte" and answered in the part that starts with the phrase "kultu". While selecting the hadiths in this work, Vahyî Efendi reveals both symbolically and verbally that reciting the hadiths in their ablative and light forms, standing, sitting, lying down, while healthy, sick, day or night, at sea or on land, in motion or at rest, is the highest form of worship. He took care to include hadiths that put Like other Sufi hadith commentators, while trying to capture the wisdom to be derived from the hadiths, he gave importance to the literal interpretation as well as the apparent meaning (Oran 2015: 27-28). While commentating on the hadiths, Gazzali (d. 505/1111), Fahreddin Razi (d. 606/1210), İbnü'l-Arabî (d. 638/1240), İbn Hacer Askalânî (d. 852/1449), Suyûtî (d. 911/1505), Münâvî (d. 1031/1621), Tîbî, İbn Hacer Heytemî (d. 974/1566), Münzirî (d. 656/1258), Begavî (d. 516/1117), Deylemî (d. 509/1115), Ebu Nuaym İsfahânî (d. 430/1038), Beyhakî (d. 458/1066), İbn Asâkir (d. 1176) and many more. It is seen that quotations are made from the scholar's works. Mustafa Vahyî Efendi tried to support what he wanted to say with Arabic, Persian and Turkish couplets. After the fortieth hadith, he also quoted from the works of some Sufis such as Necmeddîn Dâye's Mirsâdü'l-İbâd and Sümbül Sinan Efendi on the subject of dhikr. This work of Mustafa Vahyî was written generally in Arabic, partly in Persian and Turkish. The work was published in Istanbul in 1279/1862 in 45 pages. The manuscript copy is registered in the Ankara Faculty of Language, History and Geography Library under İsmail Saib Manuscripts number 2120.
