Simâtu'l-Mûkinin is one of the works written by İsmâîl Rüsûhî Efendi in the context of Mesnevî commentary. can be considered the first. According to the information given by Sahîh Ahmed Dede, who recorded the history of Mevlevis, this work was written after the commentator's trip to Egypt, that is, in 1017/1608 (2003: 297). This treatise, which is the first step of the multiple commentary project that existed in Rüsûhî Efendi's mind, is the commentary made in the same language on the Arabic introduction of the first volume of Mesnevi. After the commentator returned from studying in Egypt, he started to recite Mesnevi and firstly annotated its introduction in Arabic under the name Simâtu'l-Mûkinin. While starting his commentary on the Great Mesnevi, he placed the improved Turkish translation of this treatise along with Fâtihu'l-Ebyât, which is the first eighteen-couplet commentary, at the beginning of the commentary. Here, the Arabic sentences in the introduction of Mesnevi have been translated into Turkish and annotated. The ideas put forward are supported by verses, hadiths and verse pieces. In the introduction of the treatise, Rüsûhî Efendi states that he realized that some of the difficult sentences in the preface of Mesnevi were misinterpreted by some commentators and wrote a commentary appropriate to that preface. In a dream he had during the writing of the work, he named it Simâtu'l-Mûkinin (The Table of the Close People), as he was told (Tanyıldız 2010: 38). This translated part, which the commentator placed at the beginning of the great Mesnevî Commentary, was published separately with Fâtihu'l-Ebyât by Semih Ceyhan and Mustafa Topatan. (2008).
