Notes
The Arabic tahmis written by Şeyhülislâm Yahyâ Efendi for Kaside-i Bürde. Şeyhülislâm Yahyâ Efendi, who wrote all 160 couplets of Kaside-i Bürde, mentioned his pseudonym in the 158th couplet of the tahmis. Yahya Efendi wrote his work in the same simple style as the source text, with the meter "müstef'ilün fâ'ilün müstef'ilün fâ'ilün". The poet, who wrote his prediction in a way that reflects the emotion in the source couplet, tried to capture the effect that Bûsîrî wanted to leave. If in the source couplet Hz. If the miracles of the Prophet are mentioned, Yahya Efendi also gave different miracles as examples in his prediction or Hz. If the characteristics of the Prophet are explained, Yahya Efendi is also the Prophet. He tahmis the couplet with Muhammad's other characteristics, thus creating a tahmis that both supports the meaning of the couplet and explains the source couplet. The difficulty of finding more than one rhyming word in Arabic is felt in the text. It can be said that Şeyhülislâm Yahya Efendi, who was seen to use meter successfully, produced a successful work in terms of expression and artistic power. His strong religious knowledge is also felt in the tahmis. In addition, he managed to establish a semantic relationship between the verses and brought his poetry closer to the power of expression in the source text. The difficulty of finding more than one rhyming word with the letter mim in the first paragraph is also seen in Yahya Efendi's work. For this reason, the poet had to use the rhyming words of the source couplet - in accordance with the meaning of the text - in different verses when necessary. In addition, it can be said that the poet reflected the emotion in the source couplets very well, without disrupting the meter and rhyme, thus writing a successful Arabic tahmis. The only known copy of Yahya Efendi's Arabic tahmis is located in the magazine, which has a total of 213 leaves, including many Arabic verse and prose works. The tahmis located between sheets 185b-204a of the manuscript registered at number 5431 in Suleymaniye Manuscript Library Fatih Collection; It is written in italic script, black ink, in double columns, and there is no record of copying in the work. Among the pages 165b-185a of the same manuscript, there is the Arabic Bürdetahmi of Şeyhülislâm Hocazâde Esad Efendi (d. 1034/1625).
