Notes The hadith commentary work written by Sadreddin Konevi (d. 673/1274) within the scope of forty hadith commentary, one of the important fields of religious literature. The work, which demonstrates Konevi's hadith commentary method, includes explanations of twenty-nine hadiths. The work is written by the muhakkik Sufis who belong to the tradition of wahdat al-wujûd, Hz. It makes an important contribution to understanding their imagination about the Prophet. In addition, it also proposes a new approach, differentiating from traditional forms of interpretation that take into account the word-meaning problematic in hadiths. Konevi explains this situation because the hadith scholars before him generally drew attention to the language and grammatical aspects of the hadiths, but Hz. He states that they did not mention the wisdom and secrets in the statements of the Prophet, and that he wrote the book to explain these wisdoms and secrets. In this context, Konevi, Hz. He explains the hadiths according to the layers and levels of meaning in the hadiths, drawing attention to the "cevamiü'l-kelim" feature granted to the Prophet, that is, the ability to express many meanings with few words. For example, while discussing a hadith that talks about cleanliness, we also focus on man's existence in the eternal world and his cleanliness there; While interpreting a hadith describing kinship relations, he also touches upon the relationship between the soul and body elements in humans. This method of interpretation, Hz. It is the result of the Prophet being a reference source for all metaphysical scholars. In this respect, Konevi Hz. He describes the Prophet as "burhanü'l-muhakkikîn" (the evidence, the source on which scholars are based). According to him, Hz. Muhammad is the first prophet to exist in terms of reality, and on the other hand, he is the last prophet to exist in terms of historical emergence. Hz. The spiritual truth of the Prophet (Hakîkat-ı Muhammediyye) contains the knowledge of all the prophets who came after him, just like a seed contains the tree with all its elements. The feature of cevâmiü'l-kelim given to the Prophet stems from this characteristic. This work was published as an investigation by Hasan Kâmil Yılmaz (Istanbul 1990) and translated into Turkish by Ekrem Demirli under the title of Forty Hadith Commentary (Istanbul 2002).
