Notes	Arabic commentary written by Sürûrî of Gelibol to Sa'dî-i Şirazi's Gülistân. Sharih wrote his work for Prince Mustafa, the son of Suleiman the Magnificent, and completed it in the city of Erekliye in 1550 (Kartal 2001:114). This copy is located in Istanbul Nuruosmaniye Library number 4045. It consists of 201 pages and is written in 19 lines. In the introduction of the work, Sürûrî praised Prince Mustafa with expressions such as 'the most virtuous of the Osman family', 'the owner of knowledge and wisdom'; He said that the work contains astonishing stories, surprising advice, valuable poems and sweet couplets. The author states that Gülistan was commented on before him and that the commentators made mistakes in understanding the terminology and meaning of the work (Atila 2019: 86). While commentating on Gülistan, Sürurî gave the dictionary meaning of the words, sometimes touched on grammatical features and partially explained literary terms. Su'dî and Kefevi are among the rejected commentators in Hüseyin's commentaries (Yılmaz 2012: xxxviii). There are many copies of the work. For the biography of the commentator, see.
