Notes Sultân Veled is the only work written in prose by Bahaeddîn Muhammed Veled, commonly known as Sultân Veled. Since the style of processing and writing of the work is very similar to Mevlana's Fîhi Mâfîh, there were times when it was thought to be the second volume of Fîhi Mâfîh. In Ma'arif, which is a work of religious-sufistic nature, the subject discussed in each chapter is explained with the support of verses and hadiths, focusing on a Sufi principle, a sect's literature or a religious rule. Sultan Veled's way of explaining the subjects he deals with is not only verses and hadiths, but also the author uses famous religious and Sufi stories, as well as his own poems and the poems of elders such as Mevlana, Attar and Senayi. Although the exact date of writing of the work, of which there are many copies in manuscript libraries, is not known, it has been suggested that it must have been written between 700-712/1300-1313 (Anbarcıoğlu 1966:XLIII). The work consists of 56 chapters. Throughout 56 chapters, Sultan Veled not only repeats the same verses and hadiths in another context, but also frequently repeats the couplets, verses and rubais he took from his father's works (Ambarcıoğlu 1966: It is because. In this respect, the topics in Ma'arif are largely similar to the subjects covered by Sultan Veled in his other masnavis. One of the characteristics of Ma'arif is that it follows a different course from the writing adventure of the masnavis that the author starts and finishes within a certain period of time. The emergence of most of Ma'arif as a unique work is that it consists of Sultan Veled's answers to the questions posed to him at different times. As the author answered these questions in Ma'arif, he compiled the work piece by piece, adding the ideas and suggestions he deemed necessary for the issue. The answer given by Sultan Veled to a question that was sometimes asked during the writing of the work was written by one of the dervishes clerks next to him and presented to the sheikh, who made the necessary corrections on these answer texts and added this text to the relevant chapter. As can be understood from this anecdote, Sultan Veled did not compile his work in a certain period of time, on the contrary, he created it in a writing process by processing, answering and correcting it piece by piece at different times. Ma'arif was written in a clear, simple and understandable language with the aim of answering the questions asked. In fact, this is a common attitude seen in all of Sultan Veled's works as a stylistic feature. In the work, saints are the secret of God, poverty is considered the essence of sharia, saints call people to God like prophets, sheikhs are accepted as the caliph of God on earth, God is the life of everything, "He who knows himself knows his Lord", deeds and obedience do not change the essence of man, Religious-mystical subjects such as the fact that everything except Allah will disappear, the intention being better than the deed, and the fact that the human being is seemingly small but in reality a great universe are discussed. It is thought to belong to Mevlana, and Fihi Mâfîh II. The work was published in Iran as a volume (1334), Necîb Mâyil-i Herevî published it based on five manuscripts (1367), Meliha Anbarcıoğlu (1966) and Hülya Küçük (2005) translated it into Turkish, Najmiddin Kamilov translated it into Uzbek Turkish (1997), Eva de Vitray-Meyerovitch translated it into French (1982), and Jesús García Muro also translated it into Spanish (2003).
