Notes It is an Arabic work written by Ahmed bin Muhammed bin Abdullah bin İbrâhîm bin Ebû Nas Muhammed bin Arabşâh Şehâbeddîn Ebu'l-Abbâs, known as Ibn Arabşâh. Ibn Arabshah's treatise Acâ'ibü'l-Makdûr fî-Nevâ'ibi (Ahbâri) Temûradlı is among the primary sources of the period and consists of five chapters. According to İbrahim Kafesoğlu (1987: 700), in this work, which is a perfect example of selective prose, after a short introduction, detailed information is given about the meaning of the name Timur, starting from his place of birth, and in chapters about the events until Timur's death. In addition, it also mentions the sultanate conflicts that took place after the death of Timur and the events that took place until Shahrukh took Transoxiana and Samarkand from Mîrzâ Halîl Sultan. Ibn Arabshah, who probably completed his work in 838/1435, had a grudge against Timur for sending his parents to Samarkand with him, and he reflected this grudge in his work. For this reason, scientists state that the expressions used by the author in his work and the information he provides create a perception of bias. Ibn Arabshah wrote his work in an assertive style and preferred a cumbersome language instead of a simple narrative. Additionally, figurative expressions and similes were used quite extensively. Since the author confused some events in his work and made mistakes in terms of time order, it would be a more correct approach to use the information he gave by comparing it with other sources. The book, which is one of the most important sources of the Timurid period, with manuscripts in libraries in Turkey and outside Turkey, has been translated into different languages such as English, French, Latin, Persian and Uzbek. The work, which was translated into Turkish by Baghdadli Nazmîzâde Murtazâ in 1110/1698 under the title Târîh-i Timurlenka, upon the request of Vizier Alî Pasha, was published under the title Târîh-i Timur-ı Gûrkâna in 1142/1729, with the arrival of the printing house in Turkey. However, since it was translated in a heavy language, it was partially simplified and shortened and republished under the same name in 1277/1860 (Aka 1988: 318). Since Nazmîzâde's translation had a heavy style, Ahsen Batur re-translated the Beirut copy into Turkish (2012). Muammer Aksoy prepared his master's thesis on the translation of Nazmîzâde (2012). For the biography of the narrator, see. "İbn Arabşâh, Ahmed bin Muhammed bin Abdullah bin İbrâhîm bin Muhammed, Şehâbeddîn, Ebu'l-Abbâs, Acemî, Rûmî". Turkish Literature Names Dictionary.
