Notes Commentary on Persian Mesnevi written by İbrahim Şâhidî of Muğla in the form of mesnevi verse. While the date of writing of Gülşen-i Tevhîd is recorded as 937/1530 in the copies in Turkish libraries, according to the date couplet given by the author, according to the date couplet in the critical text created by comparing five of the copies in Iranian libraries. 940/1533. In Mecmû'atü't-Tevârihü'l-Mevleviyye, it is stated that Şâhidî started writing the work in 936/1529 and completed it in 942/1535. In Gülşen-i Tevhîd, Mevlânâ Celâleddîn-i 100 couplets from each volume of Rûmî's Mesnevî were selected and each couplet was annotated with five couplets written in the Mesnevî meter (fâ'ilâtün/fâ'ilâtün/fâ'ilün). The total number of couplets, including those selected from the Mesnevi, reaches 3700. Gülşen-i Tevhîd, the author's It begins with a preface of 98 couplets. In this section, Şahidî states that while writing his work, he first selected 600 couplets from Mesnevi, and that these couplets were very popular among the people of Sufism, but that there was no connection between these poems selected from different volumes of the work, and that he tried to reach a unity of meaning while annotating each couplet with five couplets (Beytur 2002: 12-13; Şimşekler 1998: 43; Tektaş 2012: 21). The work continues from the first volume of Mesnevi with couplets and commentaries selected from six volumes respectively. Abdülbaki Gölpınarlı noted that the influence of Yûsuf Sîneçâk's work called Cezîre-i Mesnevî was seen in the work (2006: 136). Although not as much as Tuhfe-i Şâhidî, which gained a reputation that can be considered among the Ottoman canon texts, this work of the author was also met with interest by the readers of the period. There are also copies of Gülşen-i Tevhid, of which 42 manuscripts have been identified so far (Açık Önkaş 2013: 25), in the libraries of countries such as Iran, Egypt and England. In addition, Zâtî Süleyman Efendi (d. 1738), one of the sheikhs of the Celvetiyye sect, started to write a prose commentary on Gülşen-i Tevhîd, and when he died before completing it, one of his disciples, Fahrî Ahmed Dede (d. 1799), continued the work (Yazar 2011: 479-480; Şimşek 2021: 84-85).Gülşen-i Tevhîd was published by Ahmed Niyâzî Efendi in Istanbul (1298/1880). However, Abdülbaki Gölpınarlı noted that this publication was full of mistakes (Gölpınarlı 2006: 136).
