Notes
The religious, mystical and moral work of Sheikh Hâmid-i Velî, known as Somuncu Baba, called "Zikir Risalesi" (Akgündüz 2009: 79). In the copy of Seyyid Osman Hulusi Efendi, which is described as the third copy, the name "Kâşifü'l-Estar an Vechi'l-Esrâr" was used for the work instead of the name "Zikir Risalesi" (Akgündüz 2009: 79). It is not known who gave this name and for what purpose. The title can be translated as "Unveiling the veils of secrets." The exact date of writing is not known (Ulu 2021: 61). When the content of the work is examined, it is understood that they want to draw attention to the sentence "La ilahe illallah" and the importance of dhikr. The work consists of six main headings. In these headings, the importance of the dhikr "Lâ ilâhe illallah", the reasons why the sheikhs preferred the word "Lâ ilâhe illallah" for the disciples, the parts of the dhikr, its etiquette, which dhikr and prayers should be made, and the meaning of wearing a crown and cardigan were emphasized (Akgündüz 2009: 79, 80). The author based his thoughts on verses, hadiths and the words of the great Sufis. In this context, in addition to citing verses and hadiths in the work, Hz. Ali's words and the views of ascetic Sufis such as Cüneyd-i Bağdâdî, Ebu Ali Dekkâk, Ebu'l-Hasen Harakânî, İmam Gazzâlî and Sühreverdî are included. The work is Sheikh Hâmid-i Velî's book that shows his understanding of Sufism and sect in the broadest sense (Ulu 2021: 62). The language of the work is Arabic and it is written in a clear and simple style that people who know this language can easily understand. It appeals to those who are interested in Sufism. We have three copies of the work. The oldest known copy is dated 1166/1753. A copy is in Ankara University Faculty of Theology Library. It is approximately four sheets. The second copy is dated 1232/1816 and is in the Kuddusi Baba Library in Bor, Niğde. This seven-leaf copy was copied by Mustafa Asım Köksal. The third copy was given to Ahmet Akgündüz by Seyyid Osman Hulusi Efendi's children. This copy was written in a different script than the others and it is not known where the copy was taken from (Akgündüz 2009: 79). Five translations of the work have been made. Some of these translations were published as independent books, some as chapters of a book, and some as presentations (Özcan 2011: 3-63, Şimşek 2020: 29-31, Ulu 2021: 87-107, Özkes 1991: 22-18, Serinsu 2017: 18-31, Ulu 2021: 60, 61).For the author's biography, see. “Somuncu Baba”.Turkish Literature Names Dictionary.
