Notes
The work containing Persian poems of Yenişehirli Avnî Bey (1826-1827). Avnî Bey's Persian Dîvân; It consists of 12 odes, 5 musammats, 12 masnavis, 65 ghazals, 14 stanzas, 17 verses, 26 rubai, 18 matla', 21 syllabus and 1 verse, in total 1598 couplets. 4 of Avni Bey's odes are naat. One of these naats is a parallel to Nevres Efendi (d. 1761) and has taken its place among the famous şîniyye odes that have been included fondly for centuries. Two of these odes are from Hz. Ali and Hz. It is about Hussein's praise. In the work, which also includes a eulogy about Şems-i Tebrizî, an incomplete ode about the praise of Sultan Abdülaziz, 2 odes titled Neşîde, an ode titled Latife and an ode about the satire of the Mufti of Baghdad, if the missing ones are excluded, the poet's odes vary between 19 and 97 couplets, and he included his demahla twice. One of his ghazals is a parallel to a ghazal of Mevlânâ Hâlid-i Bağdâdî (d. 1826). Of Avni Bey's five musammats, one is muhammes, two are tahmis, and two are tarab-bend. In one of the tahmis, the ghazal of the Iranian poet Şems-i Mağribî (d. 1406) was recorded, and in the other, the ghazal of Nevres Efendi (d. 1761). The first of the compositions is a 12-stanza poem that is similar to the famous elegy of Magnificent Kâşânî (d. 1587) and talks about the Karbala incident. The second takîb-bend is about the death of his father Ebubekir Pasha. Avnî Bey's masnavis, varying in length between 8 and 56 couplets, include topics such as stories, worship, the influence of naturalists, guidance from Mevlana, advice, will, denigrating bigots, and addressing unbelievers. The poet has 14 Persian stanzas with a volume of 2 to 5 couplets. Avnî Bey also included his pseudonym in one of these stanzas. These stanzas are on topics such as birth date, translation and satire. Some of the stanzas also have titles. One of the poet's stanzas is the Turkish-Persian mulemma. It contains 17 verses on philosophical, mystical and hikemi subjects. One of these verses is a parallel to a Turkish ghazal by Niyâzî-i Mısrî (d. 1604). Avnî Bey sang 26 Persian rubas. Two of them are müstezad and one is about the birth date of sheikh Nazîf Dede. Avnî Bey's Persian divan also includes 18 matla', 21 syllabus and 1 verse. Yenişehirli Avni Bey's Persian Divan was benefited by Mehmet Atalay (Atalay 2005). For the poet's biography, see.
