Notes It is the work of Budinli Hısâlî, in which he collected Persian matla' couplets from different poets. There are two copies of this magazine in Süleymaniye Library Esad Efendi Section 2883 and Lala İsmail Section 575. One copy of Letâifü'l-Hayâl is in the Millet Library Ali Emiri Section Frs. It is stated that it is registered at number 566 (Çakır 2009: 106). Hısâlî's work is a magazine in which Persian matla' couplets, mostly from Persian poets, are brought together. When the manuscript libraries are examined, it is seen that an anthology of selected poems called Letâifü'l-Hayâlis was prepared during the period. The most important of these is the magazine Letâifü'l-Hayâlad, compiled by Mehmed Cafer Muhammed Nasîr, who imitated Nusret in Persian literature, and whose author line is in the Hamidiye Section of the Süleymaniye Library, in 1183. Although many copies of this magazine are in Turkish libraries, nine copies in Istanbul libraries were identified by Nusret Gedik (Gedik 2011: 12-15). Again, Nâfiz's Türkî Letâifü'l-Hayâl, one of the 18th century poets, appears as the only work in Turkish among the magazines compiled under this name. Hısâlî's work should also be counted among such magazines. According to our findings, the general arrangement of such magazines is the bringing together of matla' or mufred couplets from different poets. Hısâlî's work begins with a matla' by Nizâmî and ends with a matla' by Feyzî. The names of the poets are written next to each matla. Matla's are listed according to their last letters, starting from elif, and are also divided into groups according to bahir. The writer did not only use this application in 1b, but also brought together the matla' couplets, the first line of which is the basmala, to start his work with the basmala on this page. In addition to the couplets of famous Persian poets, the work includes Ahdî-i Bağdâdî, Seyyîd Nesîmî, Nevâyî, Hayâlî, Sultan Selîm Hân, Ahmed Pasha, Ebussuud Efendi, etc. Turkish poets who wrote poetry in Persian also have matlas. This magazine, in which Hısâlî brought together more than 10,000 matla' couplets, is important in terms of showing the number of poets and poems that the poet was aware of, as well as reflecting the Persian poetry taste of the period.
