Notes	A collection of Yavuz Sultan Selîm's Persian poems. Yavuz Sultan Selîm, the 9th sultan of the Ottoman Empire, is not only a successful sultan, but also a poet who has mastered the elsine-i selâse. Sultan Selîm, who also wrote a small number of Turkish poems (see Köksal 2019), has a special interest in Persian poetry and literature. He wrote poems under the pseudonym Selîmî and compiled a divan from his Persian poems. Selîmî's Dîvân was first published by Hüseyin Hüsnî in Istanbul in 1306 under the title Dîvân-ı Yavuz Sultân Selîmî. The work contains a total of 106 poems, including 2 munacats, 2 na'ts and 102 ghazals. Another edition of Dîvân was made by Paul Horn in Berlin (1904). This edition contains a total of 304 poems, including 2 tawhid, 2 na't, 298 ghazals and 2 kasides. The next edition is Bedri Mermutlu's work in 2021. In this work, there is a copy written by Yavuz Sultan Selîm with his own calligraphy and a facsimile of a miniature copy presented to him. There are 276 ghazals in the scripted section of Dîvân, which Selîmî wrote in his own script; In the non-composed section, there are a total of 537 poems, including 12 odes, 1 na't, 1 muhammes, 1 tahmis and 246 ghazals. The last study on the work was done by Benedek Péri in 2021. In the critical publication based on 24 copies, there are a total of 599 poems, including 1 munacat, 1 na't, 11 kasides, 1 na't, 549 ghazals, 3 tahmis, 12 stanzas, 9 rubais, 2 stanzas and also 10 poems. The main theme of the poems in the Dîvân is the love for the beloved and the sorrow that this love brings. is grief. Poet Selîmî, with his poems on the transience of the world, the worthlessness of worldly sovereignty compared to the reign of love, and the sublimity of love and minstrelsy due to the suffering, at first glance resembles a poor lover rather than a sultan. The portrait of the lover who is relieved by the suffering of his beloved and longing for reunion appears before the reader in almost all his poems. However, when the word structure is examined carefully, it is seen that this minstrel bears the identity of both a poet and a sultan. Selîmî's poems are like a delicate combination of amorous and sultry style. When it comes to sultanate or military service, the voice rising from the poems is remarkable in that it can also make the voice of the lover destroyed by love heard. While a lyrical and fluent style was generally adopted in ghazals, a heavier style was used in odes compared to ghazals. It is possible to follow the influences of both Turkish and Persian literature in the Dîvân, which was written in pure Persian. The number of copies of the Dîvân that can be identified domestically was initially 16 (Aydın 2002: 49), but it was later determined that two of these 16 copies did not belong to Selîmî (Péri 2020: 134). With new studies, the number of copies increased to 18 (Aydın 2016; Terzi 2016: 16, 22), and then with recent studies, this number reached 20 (Kut 2018: 411). The number of copies that can be identified abroad was previously 12 (Kut 2018: 411), and with new studies, this number increased to 17 (Mermutlu 2021: 245). Translations and annotations of Yavuz Sultan Selîm's Divan were also made. Şeyh Vasfî translated 166 couplets and 12 lines in the Dîvân in his work called Bârika (1308). There are two books about Bârika prepared by Filiz Kalyon and Gökhan Gökmen (Kalyon 2015; Gökmen 2015). The second work on the Dîvân is a commentary by Manastırlı Dâniş Ahmed Efendi. There are two master's theses on Dest-âvîz-i Dâniş (Terzi 2016; Aydın 2016) and a book based on these thesis studies (Aydın Kurt and Terzi Sarı 2020). Another book about the same work has been published (Üst Erdem and Başçetin 2020). The last translation of Dîvân was made by Ali Nihâd Tarlan (1946). This work was reprinted in 2016.
