Notes	Arabic poem on the science of grammar written by Ibn Arabshah. The poet wrote Mukaddime fi'n-Nahv, a syntax work in verse and elfiyyah, which was the way of producing the widespread literary and scientific texts of the period. The text in ode style consists of two hundred couplets. Verse and concise texts written in various scientific assemblies and lecture circles in Cairo of the period, so that students could memorize the text easily, increased the fame and scientific authority of the scholar who wrote them. As a matter of fact, Ibn Arabshah, who brought together the entire science of grammar in two hundred verses in verse and in brief, demonstrated his authority in the field of language with his work named Muqaddima fî'n-Nahvis. People such as Ibn Hajar (d. 852/1449) and Ibn Tagrîberdî (d. 874/1470) personally read this text, which was taught in scientific assemblies in Cairo and gained fame, from Ibn Arabşâh. While Ibn Tagrîberdî includes fragments from the work named Mukaddime fi'n-Nahvis in his work titled el-Menhelü's-Sâfî ve'l-Müstevfî ba'de'l-Vâfî, he emphasizes his teacher's ability and skill in creating verse texts. Ibn Tagrîberdî records that he read this work from his teacher and received permission from him (1984: II/138-139). Sehâvî (d. 902/1497) gives information about poetry in his biography of Ibn Arabşâh, which he included in his layer named Iseed-Dav'ü'l-Lâmi'li Ehli Karni't-Tâsi'. No study has been found on the extant fragments of this verse text, the copy of which cannot be determined in libraries.
