Notes Kudsî's moral work written in Persian. Tehzîb-i Ahlâk consists of preface, introduction, twelve chapters and epilogue. Dibace; It starts with basmala, prayer to God and na't. Then the copyright date of the work; Issues such as the author's name, pseudonym and father's name, the subject headings of the work, the author's method, the sources used in the work, the reason for copyright are mentioned, and the name of the work is called Tehzîb-i Ahlâ. The introduction is about the meaning and importance of wisdom. In this section the author; It deals with the concepts of wisdom, knowledge, reason, custom, morality and destiny in an interconnected way and touches upon the necessity of reaching the truth. The titles of the twelve chapters that constitute the main subject of the work are as follows: Observing Moderation, About the Virtue of Goodness, About Achieving Peace, Adherence to Customs, The Meaning of Fame, About Love, About the Benefits of Deeds, Manners, Rules of Modesty, Qualities of Fairness, The Necessity of Conviction, The Meaning of Trust. It is the broadest part of the work. The section is devoted to Adab-ı Muâseret. While topics such as truthfulness, justice, good morals and loyalty are generally praised in the work; Things such as laziness, hypocrisy, envy, jealousy, ungratefulness and lying are denounced. It is understood that the author benefited from various works in Oriental literature while creating his work, especially about love. Kudsi mentions the names of some of the sources he used. It includes verses, hadiths and poems. In addition, he quotes from the Bible and Nehcü'l-Belâga and refers to Socrates. The poetic sources of the work, which contains 165 lines, include Mevlâna Celaleddin-i Rûmî, Senâyî, Şah Kasım Envar, Hallâc-ı Mansur, Hafız-ı Şîrâzî, Mahmûd-ı Şebüsterî, Sâdî-i Şîrâzî, Magnificent-i Kâşânî, Baba Efdal. The works of poets and personalities such as Kâşânî, Mir Fildiriskî, Nişat and Yegmâ are also included (Aliyev 2007: 109). The work was written in 1248/1832-33. There are four manuscript copies of Tehzîb-i Ahlâk in the Library of the Manuscripts Institute of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences. The most comprehensive research on the work was conducted by Haydar Huseynov (Hüseynov 1947, 1949; Guseynov 1958). Additionally, the work has been translated into Russian and Azerbaijani Turkish.
