Akşemseddin's answers to the criticisms about the Sufis The main headings are as follows:1. Criticisms about the clothes of Sufis2. Sufis wearing cardigans and allegiance from their sheikhs3. Sufis' ecstasy and loss of consciousness4. Asking for financial aid from people and accepting gifts from emirs5. Sufis consider savm-ı visal to be permissible6. Sufis perform almighty dhikr and combine the Quran and poetry in assemblies7. Sufis enter into seclusion for forty days8. Sufis claim to see Allah in their dreams9. Sufis Hz. Muhammad's belief that he saw Allah Almighty both with his external eye and his heart's eye on the Night of Mi'raj10. The claim that Sufis are blessed with lights and discoveries. Akşemseddin tried to support his ideas on almost every subject, first with verses and hadiths, and then with the words of the companions and Sufis. The sources he references while explaining his answers and objections show the sheikh's knowledge of other Islamic sciences such as tafsir, hadith, fiqh and kalam, as well as Sufism. Although he based his views on Suhrawardi's Avârif as a basis for Sufism, he also referred to İhyâu Ulûmi'd-din, Mişkâtü'l-envâr, et-Taarruf, Kûtu'l-kulûb, Mesnevî and İbnü'l-fârız's Dîvân (Akşemseddin 1452, Reis 2014: 68-69).Akşemseddin's brother Ali b. Apart from Hamza's translation of the work, there is also an incomplete translation made by Bolulu Himmet Efendi, one of the Bayrami caliphs (Akşemseddin 1452, Reis 2014: 2).
