Notes
The work contains the poems of Mehmed Emîn (b. ?/? - d. 1174/1760-61), who used the pseudonym Belîğ. In the critical text of Dîvân (Demirel 2005), there are 11 odes, 1 tahmis in the musammatlar section, 1 terci-bend-looking müseddes, 1 elegy verse type. terci-bend, 31 historical poems, 4 of which were written in ode-ghazal rhyme scheme and the others in stanza verse form, 243 ghazals, 238 in Turkish and 5 in Persian, 55 stanzas, 24 rubai, 2 songs, 63 syllabi and "Hammam-nâme", "Kefşger-nâme", "Hayyat-nâme" and There are museeddes titled "Berber-nâme", "Der-Menkıbe-i Sâhil-hâne-i Çerâğân" titled "Der-Menkıbe-i Sâhil-hâne-i Çerâğân" written in verse form and "Sâkî-nâme" written in composition-bend form. Belîğ presented his odes to people who were not important in his time. He wrote the most odes for Râtip Ahmed Pasha from Yenişehir. His ghazals are more successful than his odes; It attracts attention with its strong and concise expressions. "Kefşger-nâme", one of the poems that some sources introduce as independent works separate from Dîvân, is rich in terms of old shoemaking terms. “Hammâm-nâme (-i Dil-sûz)” is important in terms of giving information about Turkish baths. “Berber-nâme” is a text about the profession of barbering, which is similar in content to Thabit's poem of the same name. This poem, which is a good example of its kind, contains important information about old social life. “Hayyât-nâme (-i Dil-sûz)” tells the events that took place around a “lover” who was a tailor tradesman of the period. “Sâkî-nâme” is a simple example of its kind. In his long ode called "Der-menkıbe-i Sâhil-hâne-i Çerâğân", Çırağan Palace and the entertainments there are described. These poems attract attention with their lively and humorous descriptions and original and local descriptions bearing traces of the social life of the 18th century. In his poems, Belîğ covers not only the major districts of Istanbul such as At Square, Tozkoparan, Fatih, Ok Square, but also many places belonging to the Rumelian geography. It sheds light on some important historical events by mentioning the famous fires in Istanbul. He draws attention to social issues and realistically describes the types he observes in his poems. It successfully reflects the human portrait, life and psychology of the period. He criticizes the extreme examples and types that exist in society. Thus, he reveals his talent for social satire and criticism. The poet often complains about the period in which he lives. He talks about the prevalence of bribery, cruelty, injustice and injustice, the fact that only the rich are favored, and the disloyalty of people. The descriptions of beauty in his poems are also extremely realistic. Social life of the period, shopping life, etc. He conveys his important impressions about (see Demirel 2005: I/140-220; Pala 1992: 417). We see that the poet also had originality and courage that gave him the courage to invent a new type of poetry (Gibb 1999: 349). The Dîvân, which bears the traces of social life, is also extremely important in terms of the proverbs and idioms it contains as a source to the present day. 8 existing copies of the Dîvân have been identified. In addition, the work was published by Ebu'z-Ziyâ Tevfik in 1258. The critical text of the Dîvân was first prepared by Ali Açıkgöz (1994) as a master's thesis, then by Üzeyir Dereli (1996), and then by Gamze Demirel (2005) as a doctoral thesis. Özgenay İnanan also prepared the Contextual Index and Functional Dictionary of the work as her master's thesis (2017).
