Notes A Persian poetic work written by Ârifî in five volumes. This work, decorated with miniatures, was written by taking the Şâh-nâme of Firdevsî (d. 1020 ?) as an example. Different figures have been mentioned about the number of couplets in the work, which was written in the Mesnevi style, in the "fe'ûlün fe'ûlün fe'ûlün feûl" meter of the mutakarib bahri. Bursalı Mehmed Tahir recorded the number of couplets as 60,000, Âşık Çelebi as 10,000 or 20,000, Babinger as 6,000 or 8,000, and Ahdî as 100,000. The first volume of the work, titled Enbiyâ-nâme, was recorded by Hz. It is the history of prophets that begins with Adam. Unknown II. The birth of Islam is explained in the volume, and the name is unknown. In the volume, information about the ancient Turkish states and the Seljuks is given, titled Osman-nâme IV. In the volume, the series of events from the foundation of the Ottoman Empire to the period of Bayezid I (d. 1403) is explained, and in the V. volume titled Süleymân-nâme, consisting of 32,760 couplets, the accession of Prince Süleyman to the throne due to the death of Yavuz Sultan Selim (d. 1520) and the second time of Rüstem Pasha (d. 1561) The events leading up to his appointment as grand vizier are described. According to this content, the events that took place between 1520 and 1555 are mentioned in the work. The author wrote the V. volume because Suleiman the Magnificent wanted to write an Ottoman history in Persian in the style of Firdevsî's Shah-nâme. The poet wrote this volume piece by piece, presented it to the sultan and received his approval. Unlike Firdevsî, Ârifî wrote this work in the most realistic way and in a chronological order. There is no disconnection between the events in this work written in a poetic style. In the work, important information was given about the state organization, state institutions, some statesmen, army, navy, weapons, defense and deployment of the army in war, and Suleiman the Magnificent was praised with adjectives such as "ruler of the world, ruler of the universe, sultan of the universe, just ruler, defender of Islam". Arifi first stated the name of the work, praised Allah and the Prophet, and entered the main topic by mentioning the names of all the Ottoman sultans. In Tevârih-i Âl-i Osmân, Firdevsî, Ferruhî-yi Sîstânî (d. 1037-38) and Menûçihrî-i Dâmgânî (d. 1040-41)'s influence can be seen. Since Ârifî wrote his work taking Shah-nâme as a model, the language he used is plain, fluent and simple in accordance with the linguistic features of Middle Persian (Deri Persian). The care taken not to use Arabic words in the work was also expressed by Âşık Çelebi. There are 69 miniatures in volume V, a copy of which is in the Topkapı Palace Museum Library (nr. 1517). Volume I and the last chapter of Tevârîh-i Âl-i Osmân are missing in Volume IV. The volume is in a private collection in Italy. III. The skin was completely lost, II. A few miniatures of the volume have survived to the present day. Ahmet Faruk Çelik prepared his doctoral thesis on the V. volume of the work (2009).
