Notes	The work written by Devletoğlu Yûsuf from Balıkesir, whose real name is Yûsuf bin Hüseyin el-Kirmasti. Devletoğlu Yûsuf prepared this book based on El-Kazvînî (d.739/1338)'s Telhîsu'l-Miftâh (Benli 1998: 236). Later, he annotated the text and named it pet-Tibyâna. Then he made a summary and named it dael-Müntehab(el-Müntehabü fî Muhtasari't-Tebyîni fi'l-Me'ânî ve'l-Beyân) (Balcı 2014: 313). Three copies of the work written in Arabic could be identified: Süleymaniye Library, İsmihan Sultan, Nu. 0034, vr. 1b-84a; Süleymaniye Library, Laleli, Nu. 02780, vr. 1b-96a; Presidency of Religious Affairs Library, Nu. 005606-III, vr. 139b- 242a. According to the copy in the Presidency of Religious Affairs Library, the treatise was written in 888/1483 (Aktaş 2019: 25). The text consists of introduction (basic concepts), two science (me'ânî, beyân) and hatime (bedî') sections (Aktaş 2019: 25). "One of the first striking features of this work of Kirmâstî is that it compiles the essence of the leading works of the field of rhetoric such as Miftâhu'l-Ulûm, Telhîsu'l-Miftâh, el-Îzâh, el-Mutavvel and el-Muhtasa as a whole and deals with and explains rhetoric topics in a very easy and fluent style, especially for students." In this work, which contains a significant part of the shawahid in Telhîsu'l-Miftâh and El-Mutavvel, Kirmâstî takes couplets from Miftâhu'l-Ulûm, Delâ'ilu'l-İ'câz and Esrâru'l-Belâga when appropriate, and the rules and rules he explains are carefully taken from the Quran. It is also seen that he wanted to give richness and liveliness to the subjects of rhetoric by working with the verses he quoted." (Benli, 1998: 236). Another important point in the work is that "while explaining the interpretation of the verses recorded by the author in the light of shawahid and the elements subject to istisha, he especially benefited from al-Zamakhshari (d. 538/1144)'s commentary of al-Kashshaf called Haka'ik et-Tenzilad" (Benli 1998: 239).Another remarkable feature of Et-Tebyîn can be seen in the classification and arrangement of its subjects. Kirmastî, who generally made the greatest effort to comply with Telhîsu'l-Miftâh's plan in the listing of the subjects he discussed, departed from al-Qazvinî in some places and made his own unique classifications and rankings (Benli 1998: 240).The work was studied as a doctoral thesis by Mehmet Sami Benli under the title of Yûsuf el-Kirmâstî, Hayat ve et-Tebyîn Fi’l-Me‘ânî Ve’l-Beyân (1996).
