Notes	The Arabic tahmis written by Shaykh al-Islam Hâce-zâde Es'ad Mehmed Efendi for Kaside-i Bürde. Es'ad Mehmed Efendi, who quoted 161 couplets of Kaside-i Bürde, mentioned his pseudonym in the 158th couplet of the tahmis. Es'ad Efendi wrote his tahmi in the same way as the source text, with the simple meter "müstef'ilün fâ'ilün müstef'ilün fâ'ilün". The tahmi of Sheikh al-Islam Es'ad Efendi has a special place among the Arabic Bürde tahmis. The work stands out among other tahmis in terms of both its power of expression and the fact that it reflects the emotion in the source poem in a very effective manner. Es'ad Efendi wrote his work in accordance with the subject mentioned in the source couplet. He especially touched upon the events mentioned in Bûsîrî's couplets and completed the couplets with lines compatible with the sections of the ode. Based on Es'ad Efendi's verses, it can be said that the poet has a good command of Arabic. The harmony of Tahmis verses with the source text, both in terms of Arabic language and expression style, is noteworthy. Şeyhülislâm Hâce-zâde Es'ad Mehmed Efendi also used the meter successfully. The power of articulation created by the repetition of letters and words, especially in the tahmis verses, has given a different fluency to the tahmis. It is understood from the fact that Es'ad Mehmed Efendi's tahmis stands out among other Arabic tahmis and is read with great admiration, as well as from the statements of people who do research on the subject, as well as from the fact that there are many copies in libraries (Yeşildağ 2010: 29).
