Notes Persian work of Bahâeddîn Muhammed Veled, commonly known as Sultân Veled. The work was written in a mixture of verse and prose, using the "fâ'ilâtün fâ'ilâtün fâ'ilün" pattern, which is the meter of Mevlana's Mesnevi. The prose parts of the work, the writing of which started in Şaban 700/11 April 1301 and was completed within five months (January 1988: 545), are a summary for the purpose of preparing the reader for the issues that will be explained in the verse parts. The prose parts in Rebâb-nâme consist of 1 preface and 106 headings. In the mesnevi, which is a work of 8124 couplets, there are 162 Turkish, 36 Arabic and 22 Greek couplets (Değirmençay 2009: 521). Although Rebâb-nâme has some meter and rhyme defects inherent in the aruz, it is notable for its simple expression and fluent style, which are the distinguishing features of Sultan Veled's other mesnevi. In the reason for writing Rebâb-nâme, Sultan Veled mentions a kind-hearted person who encouraged him to write a work in this meter. This person tells him that he wrote İbtidâ-nâme in the meter of Hakîm Senâyî's Ilahi-nâme, and now by creating a work in the meter of Mevlana's Mesnevi, he will both please the memories of his disciples who are familiar with that meter and fully achieve his goal of making all the poems he wrote like the poems of Mevlana. Upon this advice, Sultan Veled began to compose his work, which he called Rebâb-nâme, with the idea that the moans in the rebab were more numerous and diverse than what they were. In Rebâb-nâme; All things, and therefore all things, glorify God, one side of love requires gratitude, one side requires complaint, the distances a person passes from the world of non-existence to the world of existence, the essence of wind and words is water, the real difference is in spirits but not in bodies, the idea is superior to deeds, the world is considered forbidden for some and a guide for others, the rebellion of the saints is superior to the obedience of the people, each letter has a different meaning. Various bets are emphasized. In addition, commentaries and interpretations of some verses and hadiths are made to reveal the meanings hidden in them. In addition to these, the work focuses on the words of elders such as Mevlânâ, Şems-i Tebrizî and Seyyid Burhaneddin, and especially on the words of Mevlânâ, with the aim of making the addressee understand the wisdom hidden in these words in detail. Rebâb-nâme, which has six copies in various manuscript libraries (see January 1988: 553), was first published by F. It was published by Wilhelm Radloff (1889), and was later published by Alî Sultânî Gird Ferâmerzî in Iran (1377). Veyis Değirmençay conducted a doctoral study on the work (1996). Finally, İsmail Koçak published the work previously translated by Niğdeli Hakkı Eroğlu (2011). For the biography of the poet, see "Veled, Sultân Veled, Bahaeddîn Muhammed Veled".
