(22b) In the name of God... Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and blessings and peace be upon our Master Muhammad and his family all. Know that inflection in the language is change and in artifice is the transformation of a single original into different examples with intended meanings that cannot be achieved without it. Then the verb is either threefold or fourfold, and each of them is either abstract or added to it, and each one of them is either sound or not sound. By “salim” we mean that whose original letters that correspond to the fa’, the ain, and the lām are intact, such as the vowels, hamza, and weak letters... (30a) Notice of the time from the abstract triple infinitive on a verb in the fatha, you say, “I struck a blow, and I stood up.” And of what is added to the triple by adding a “ta,” such as giving and starting, except for what contains a “ta,” the feminization of them. The description of oneness is obligatory, like your saying, “His mercy was one mercy, and I rolled him over one time,” and the verb is with a kasra for the type of the verb, so you say, “He has a good taste,” and “the sitting was complete.”
