Sample Text
It is a work created and bound by bringing together 5 different manuscripts (Manuscript numbers: MS 436, MS 437, MS 438, MS 439, MS 440).
AD 436:
This work on the science of rhetoric is based on Ebü'l-Kâsım es-Samerkandî's work Ferâidü'l-Fevâid li-Tahkîki Me'âni'l-İsti'ârât, also known as el-Ferîde and er-Risâletü's-Semerkandiyye, by Ahmed b., known as Kul Ahmet. Muhammad b. It is Hıdır's commentary. The source text Ferâidü'l-Fevâid consists of fifteen parts called "feride" (single stone, diamond) in three parts called "ıkd" (necklace). The first part is devoted to the types of metaphors and similes, and the second part is devoted to the disputes regarding metaphors. The third part is about issues related to presumption and dissection in metaphor. Many commentaries and annotations were written on this text, and the work was also compiled into verse. The edition of the work was also critiqued (see bibliography).
It is the first work in a magazine with five works. His copyist was Süleyman b., known as Hocazâde. It is Mehmed. Its copying was completed in Konya in April-May 1755. There are occasional footnotes along the edges. The copy is rejected.
437 AD:
This work on the science of rhetoric can be found in el-Ferîde, er-Risâletü's-Semerkandiyye, etc. It is also referred to by names. Author Samarkandî states in the preface of the work that details about the definition, types and relevance of metaphor are included in the rhetoric books in a way that makes it difficult to understand, and therefore he presents the information on the subject in a concise manner. The treatise consists of fifteen parts called "feride" (single stone, diamond) within three parts called "ıkd" (necklace). The first part is devoted to metaphor and metaphor types, the second part is devoted to disputes regarding metaphors, and the third part is devoted to issues related to presumption and interpretation in metaphor. About thirty commentaries were made on the treatise.
It is the second work of the five-work magazine. In 37a there is an Arabic na't signed in the name of Selman. Then the edges are empty.
AD 438:
The work written by the famous Ottoman scholar Molla Hüsrev consists of an introduction and two parts. In the introduction, the method of fiqh and definitions of fiqh are given. The first part is divided into four parts: book, sunnah, ijma and qiyas. The second part is about the provisions. The author later wrote a commentary on this work called Mir'âtu'l-usûl. There are also annotations written on Mir'ât. Osman b. Mir'ât, which was translated into Ottoman Turkish by Mustafa el-Geliboli under the name Teshilü Mirkâti'l-vüsûl ila ilmi'l-usûl (Istanbul, 1288), was translated into Turkish by Haydar Sarıoğlu together with Mirkât. The work was also studied as a master's thesis by Seyit Badır (see References).
It is the third of the magazine with five works. There is no copying record. There is the name of the work in 39a. 55b is empty. There are very few fevâid on the edges. The copy is rejected.
AD 439:
It is the summary of the third chapter of Miftâhu'l-'Ulûm, one of the founding texts in the field of rhetoric written by Sekkâkî, prepared by Celâleddîn Muhammed el-Hatîb el-Kazvînî under the name Telhîsü'l-Miftâh. Many people, especially Teftâzânî, have studied Telhis, which was taught as a textbook in Ottoman madrasahs. The commentator states that he wrote this commentary in order to eliminate some literary flaws in Miftâhu'l-'Ulûm, which he presents as the most valuable work in terms of content and organization in the field of Rhetoric. He mentions these literary defects as hasviyyât (unnecessary words), tatvîlât (unnecessary extensions) and Ta'kîdât.
It is the fourth work of the magazine with five works. There are polite words in 56a. There are metaphorical leaves between 86a-89b. No separate receipt was kept for these leaves, which may belong to another work. 90a-b is empty. There are also comments written by more than one person in the margins. Some of these are very irregular; In fact, notes were made on some leaves, as if scribbling.
440 AD:
It is a compilation of İbnü'l-Hâcib's work titled Müntehe's-sûl ve'l-emel fî fî ilmeyi'l-usûli ve'l-cedel, which he had previously written. The work, which started to be taught as a textbook in madrasas during the author's lifetime, is also among the textbooks of Ottoman madrasahs. On the source work known by names such as Muhtasar, Muhtasaru'l-Müntehâ and Muhtasar-ı İbnü'l-Hâcib, Kutbuddin Şîrâzî (d. 710/1311), Adudiddin el-Îcî (d. 756/1355) and Seyyid Şerif Cürcânî (d. 816/1413). More than fifty commentaries were written by many scholars such as, and annotations were made on some of these commentaries. The most famous of these is Adududdin el-Îci's Şerhu Muhtasari'l-muntehâ.
It is the last of the magazine with five works. The copy we have of the work is incomplete. In this copy, there are fifteen pages from the beginning of the work: there is no introduction; directly to the text. Then the edges are empty. There is Turkish poetry on the front and back covers. The copy is rejected.
