Sample Text
It was created by bringing together and binding 4 different manuscripts (Manuscript numbers: MS 319, MS 320, MS 321, MS 322). MS 319: The work is an alphabetical Arabic-Turkish dictionary. There are additions on the edges. At the end of the work (69b-71) there are various prayers and amulet texts. The work is the prose version of Firişteoğlu Dictionary arranged in alphabetical order. The person who edited the dictionary does not give his name in the introduction, but he says that he made some minor additions to the work and that his aim was to facilitate the use of the dictionary. 320 AD: The work is a small alphabetical dictionary in which the Turkish equivalents of Arabic and Persian words are given. There are additions on the edges. At the end of the glossary section, 129a-136a: Arabic and Persian pronouns, prepositions and numbers are listed under the title Kitâb-ı Muzmirât. At the end of the work, there are various medicine recipes: 136b-137a. 321 AD: The dictionary begins with an Arabic entry. In the work, Arabic words are classified in terms of their meanings and divided into 23 sections, and in each section, the Turkish equivalents of the relevant words are given. There are additions on some page edges. 322 AD: The dictionary was organized in "continents", but the continents were not numbered. The work has the appearance of a verse dictionary, however, meter is not in question. The fact that most of the stanzas consist of 10 lines suggests that the name of the work is muhammesat and that the title may have been written as muhammesat by mistake.
