The notebook is a mixture of lexicons of Ethiopian languages, extracts from letters, copies of Ethiopian inscriptions then translated, notes according to Bruce (in English), on the journey of Combes and Tamisier and even a page devoted to observations of Ptolemy, lists of books to consult, names of places, various observations. Fol. 17v-19r: "Letter written to the king of the French" (in fidel script) letters from king Sahla Dengel, from the superior ečagë Mahsanta Mika'el of Dabra Libanos, from ras 'Ali, from déjatch Oubié and from dédjach Kenfou to king Louis-Philippe. Fol. 22r: "Excerpts from Bruce vol. I" then "vol. II" (from fol. 24v) then "vol. III" (from fol. 29r) then again "vol. II" (fol. 30r), "vol III" (fol. 30v until 34r). Fol. 34v: "From Salt" (then returns several times in the notebook). Fol. 35r: "Bruce vol. III" fol. 35v: "Bruce vol. IV". Fol. 43v: “of Ptolemy”. Fol. 46rv-53r: inscriptions by E. Roediger.
