Notes	The video series called "Mesopotamian Dramaturgies / Water" by contemporary artist and film director Kutluğ Ataman is designed based on images taken at different times of the water of the Bosphorus, which separates the European and Asian continents. A text written in Kufic calligraphy has been placed in some of the videos in the series. Textless videos, on the other hand, are entirely conceptual works that reflect on the language of modernism. It is the fifth video of the series, in the Sakıp Sabancı Museum collection. On the screen on the right, an image of the sea waters taken at a different time of the day was written in Kufic calligraphy on the sea waters, and the Arabic Lâ ilâhe illallah Muhammedun Resulullah, meaning "There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is His messenger", was written. The screen on the left is a reflection of the screen on the right, so that the Arabic phrase is seen as a mirror image. The videos remind us of the symmetrical writing compositions called "müsenna" or mirrored in the art of calligraphy. According to Kutluğ Ataman, these straight and reverse views of the Arabic phrase meet in the eye of the viewer. The Bosphorus, seen as a geographical line separating two worlds, unites the two worlds with this work, and images that are reflections of each other embrace each other.
