without boards — Carefully written, but neither the orthography of the original Old Javanese text nor
the explanations offered in the Balinese glosses are without mistakes. — palm leaf — Old Javanese epic in Indian meters, with Balinese glosses above and below the lines
(see Schoem, I 7). The palm leaves contain the episode of the battle in which the
king of Wirata appears on the field. The kings left after the massacre of the first
days consult each other. It can be found in Kanto 12-13 of the altogether 52 Cantos
of the ancient Javanese poem. At the end some lines of the Balinese folk poetry, apparently
written by the scribe, are attached.
