Notes
Ahi Evren, known as the master of tanners/leathermen, organized many tradesmen with the Ahi Organization he founded, influenced our social, economic and political life, was mentioned as the great public philosopher and intellectual, Danişmend-i Rûmî, who was the pioneer of brotherhood, generosity, bravery, sacrifice, truth, honesty, morality, art and science. It is the translation into Persian of the work called el-Elvâhu'l-İmâdiyye, which includes subjects related to nature and metaphysics, written in Arabic by Şihâbüddîn es-Sühreverdî upon the request of İmâdüddin Karaarslan, the governor of Harput-Diyarbakır at the time. Information about the work was given by Mikail Bayram, who did research on Ahi Evren and his works. According to Bayram; It is stated that the work was translated by Ahi Evren (Bayram 1991: 68). However, Ahi Evren's name is not found anywhere in the examined manuscript - as in his other works. El-Elvâhu'l-İmadiyye was published by Necefkuli Habibi in 1997 and then in 2014 by different publishing houses, using the manuscripts, two of which are in Iranian libraries and one of which is in the Suleymaniye Library. The work translated into Persian was benefited from the Arabic copy in the Esad Efendi section of the Süleymaniye Library (Sühreverdi 2017: 30). The author wrote the work on philosophical topics on the basis of mebde and mead, using different methods in a simplicity that an administrator can understand. The work covers various subjects related to physics, metaphysics, cosmology and humanity, which are the basic fields of philosophy. While the author used the Peripatetic method and terminology while dealing with the subjects, he also sometimes resorted to his own Illustrative method and terminology. In this respect, the work bears the traces of both schools and reveals Suhrawardi's competence and skill in this regard. Elvâhu'l-İmadiyye was written in an introduction (introduction) and four main sections (plates) and was divided into chapters under the title of rules in different places, but these rules were not given titles. In the introduction part, information was given about the basic concepts and subjects. First, general meaning and personal existence were mentioned, then how knowledge was formed was emphasized (Ahi Evren 1262: 21-23). In the first part of the work, subjects such as dimensions, elements, and their change and transformation, and movement, which are physics subjects, were discussed. In the second chapter, the subject of the soul is discussed, and issues such as the abstractness of the soul, the abilities it has, and its relationship with the body are emphasized. In the third chapter, topics related to metaphysics are included, and issues such as proof of existence, heavens, their movements and movers are tried to be explained. In the fourth chapter, by discussing topics such as God's blessing, the order and order existing in the world, destiny-fate, evil, lights and its relationship with the soul, an effort has been made to demonstrate that everything in the world is in its place and that this is a work of divine mercy. In addition, the problem of evil is emphasized in the work and it is stated that evil does not have an entity and is related to non-existence (Sühreverdi 2017: 21-26). While addressing these issues, the author also used quotations of verses and hadiths, and the verses, hadiths and subject headings were written in red ink. Elvâh is a work that is a brief summary of the Illumination teaching. A copy of the work, thought to belong to Ahi Evren, was found as a result of research. This copy; It is registered in Konya Yusuf Ağa Manuscript Library under number 4866. The original Arabic copies of the work in Türkiye are; 1. Suleymaniye Library Hagia Sophia Section is at number 2384; 2. Süleymaniye Library Esad Efendi Section, number 1933; 3. Suleymaniye Library Hagia Sophia Section is at number 2384-M1; 4. The copies registered in the Mehmed Asım Bey Section of Köprülü Library, number 199. For the biography of Ahi Evren, see. “Ahi Evren, Nasıreddin Şeyh Nasıreddin”.
