Notes
The work of Gelibolulu Mustafa Âlî, consisting of his parallels to the Persian poet Hâfız-ı Şirazî. This situation is also stated in the manuscript of the single copy of Mecmau'l-Bahrain with the phrase "Tezkiretü'ş-şi'rü'l-Âliyyü'l-merhûm ve Nazîre-i Âlî Berây-ı Gazelhâ-yı Hâfız-ı Şirâzî". Âlî, 1000/1591-92 In 1999, he collected the parallels he wrote to the ghazals of Hâfız (d. 792/1390) in an independent work called Mecmau'l-Bahreyna, upon the insistence of his student Nef'î. He adds a chapter to the beginning of the work and places a long independent poem at the end. In Dibace, Âlî talks about Iranian and Arab artists. He gives information about Nef'î's family through his works. He presented himself with Hafiz to Khidr and Musa; He interprets Mecma'ul-Bahrain as their joint work by comparing the two ghazals on each page to two pearls and the moon. After Dibace, there are the ghazals of Hafiz on one side and the 55 ghazals in Persian written by Âlî to Hâfez on the other. Âlî follows Hafez's ghazals very closely in terms of form and content in his Persian ghazals. Divan of Shirazli Hâfız begins with the couplet "Elâ yâ eyyühe's-sâkî edir ke'sen ve nâvilhâ / Ki ışk âsân nemûd evvel velî üftad müşkilhâ". The text of the first ghazal in ÂlîMecmau'l-Bahrain is in the form of "Edir ke'sel-humeyyâ eyyühe's-sâkî ve nâvilhâ / Ene'l-mahmûru işken f'eskınî minhâ ve kemmil-hâ" and is similar in meaning to Hâfız's couplet. Âlî, Hâfız's poem If Hâfız started and ended his ghazal with Arabic couplets, Mülemma responds in the same way. In his ghazals in Mecmau'l-Bahrain, he explains his views on Hafiz's poems. In one of these couplets, he states that his poems are not similar to those of Hafiz, but are God's gift. In another ghazal in Mecmau'l-Bahrain, he describes himself as the second. He states that he sees himself as Hâfız. In his works, Âlî often emphasizes that he is skilled in Turkish, Arabic, Persian and Chagatai, which he calls "çâr-dil". As can be understood from here, it is clearly evident from his works that Âlî, who has many adjectives, is actually a multilingual intellectual. Between the couplets of Hâfız in Mecmau'l-Bahrain and the parallel couplets. There are many similarities in the staff and images. In some couplets, even the Persian+Arabic structure in the background is preserved. However, the verse couplets are far behind the background poem. The only copy of Mecmau'l-Bahrain is in Ankara National Library Yz. A 136, between 1b-69a. This copy was first found by Abdülkadir Karahan. It was introduced. Mecmau'l-Bahrain was evaluated by İ.Hakkı Aksoyak: then it was translated with matla couplets in old letters (2010: 19-43). Mehmet Atalay and Orhan Başaran published the work in old letters, without evaluation (2010, 2011). For the biography of the poet, see "Âlî/Çeşmî, Gelibolulu.
