Notes Abdurrahim b. from Prizren, with the pseudonym Fedâî. An Arabic work written by Ali (b. ? - d. 1303/1886) about partial will. Three copies of the work have been identified: IMM Atatürk Library, Osman Ergin Manuscripts, 0580/7, 0794/10 and 1623/3 (Yılmaz, Anilir and Doğan 2021: 42). In short; Fedaî's work, which includes discussions on whether man has a will, choices in his actions, and power (ihtiyar) apart from the universal will of Allah, and deals with the subject of partial will, which is essentially within the scope of the science of kalam/aqāid, from various aspects, was written as a response to a letter he received, as understood from its introduction. It can also be said that the work has a refutation feature in terms of the issues, discussions and answers it contains. In this context, Fedâî stated that he examined this letter and then started to write his criticisms about the letter owner's views on the subject of partial will. The main thing that stands out in Fedâî's criticisms/answers, as well as his Sufi explanations/comments, is that they are generally in line with the views of the Ashari school of belief on the subject of partial will, rather than Maturidi's, that is, with the idea that "God created the acts within the scope of partial will without the influence of human power" (Also see Soysal 2017: 136-147). In addition to the methods of Kalam science, the author's approaches/explanations on the subject draw attention in the context of the doctrine of unity of existence or the course of true tawhîd, which reflects the theoretical and practical principles and foundations of the Late Melamism of which he is a member. Fedâî primarily states that the sender of the letter: “Because of his creation of the universal will in man (the people). Praising Allah, creation is called creating something that does not exist (non-existent) from nothing. He stated that the word itself is a contradiction. In response to this view, he says: "Although the universal will is in the category of things that have not emerged in the world of existence, God's creation is associated with this thing (universal will) that does not exist in the world of existence." claimed. In his answers to such various views of the letter owner, Fedâî sometimes tried to strengthen his explanations by bringing references from scholars such as Senûsî (d. 895/1490), Seyyid Şerif Cürcânî (d. 816/1413), Celâleddin Devvânî (d. 908/1502). In his work, the author accepts Shariati, Sunnah, rational principles, Ahl al-Sunnah, and the consensus of the predecessor scholars and wise men (ijmâʻ) as the basic source; existence-existence-existence, universal will, people-creation-impression, actions, attributes, possible, necessary, possible, eternal, power, effectiveness, proof of oneness, He has dealt with the subject of partial will in a broad dimension with content-related elements such as ihtiyâr-cebr-kast, kesb, sevâb-ʻikâb, teklîf, Eşʻariyye, Kaderiyye, Cebriyye. He also made references to the views of various religious sects - which he thought were right or wrong - and pointed out the inaccuracies in the letter owner's view. An article (Soysal 2017: 133-163) and a book study (Yılmaz, Anılır and Doğan 2021: 40-47) included the analysis and translation of the work. For the author's biography, see. "Fedâî, Abdürrahîm".
