The work containing the letters of Sırrî Pasha. It contains the official and personal correspondence of Sırrı Pasha during his governorship. It was published in Arabic letters in three volumes at different times. The first volume of the work, written in prose, contains twenty-five ghazals. Sırrı Pasha, who was a successful governor as well as a strong pen master, showed this aspect mostly in prose. He gave importance to journalism and recommended that unnecessary praise should be avoided in the published newspapers and that a language that the public could understand should be used. Sırrı Pasha's Letters also contain important sections about the social and political life of the period. Pasha, who apparently gave great importance to transportation and regional development and investments in the places where he was governor, initiated such activities (Uçar 2013: 192-193). It is known that during his governorship of Baghdad, he had the Sırrıye Dam and the Hindiye Wall built, which are still used today and named after him, and that he made important contributions to the opening of the Hille Canal (Kurnaz 2009: 128). On the other hand, ensuring the continuity of public services and the correct functioning of the bureaucracy, collecting taxes correctly and fairly, building new educational institutions, continuity of public services, solving public order problems and preventing epidemic diseases are among the remarkable topics in Sırrı Pasha's letters (Karaçavuş 2007). The first volume is titled "Some of the Hâvî Âsâr-ı Hâlerini of Trabzon Governor Sırrî Pasha". It carries. The first volume, printed in the Trabzon provincial printing house in 1301/1884, has 136 pages. The second (1303/1887) and third editions (1309/1892) of the first volume were printed in Istanbul with 206 and 198+4 pages. In the foreword of the work published under the name Mektûbat-ı Sırrı Pasha, governor-yi vilâyet-i Diyarbakır, bookstore Arakil; He states that the book was first published in Trabzon, and with the addition of some drafts, it was published a second time in Istanbul, and that he is proud to publish the third edition. The second volume of the work (Mektûbat-ı Sırrı Paşa) was printed in Istanbul as 98+1 (1310/1893), and the third volume (Mektûbat-ı Sırrı Paşa, Collected by Abdulaziz Tal'at) as 255+1 pages in Diyarbakır (1311/1894) (Kurnaz 2000: 138-139). Having more than one edition can be considered as a sign that the work was appreciated. Mektûbat-ı Sırrı Pasha is registered in the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Atatürk Library with the inventory numbers Bel_Osm_K.00170, Bel_Osm_K.00376, Bel_Osm_K.00733/01 and Bel_Osm_K.00733/02. A master's degree study (Uçar 2013) was conducted on the first two volumes of the work. Ahmet Karaçavuş also published the first volume of the work as a review and text under the name Mektûbat-ı Sırrı Paşa, based on the copy printed by Arakil in Istanbul (2007).
