The budget is the most important element that shows the importance given to library services and therefore determines the quality of these services. Libraries own They make their own purchases, there are differences in state and foundation universities, bureaucracy, etc. Even though there are factors, they manage their own budgets. Each step of purchasing and resource management processes is followed by the library. Here, how much budget will be allocated for which faculty is directly related to the management of electronic and printed resources. When deciding on the budgets allocated to faculties; Questions should be asked such as in which languages ​​education is provided, whether printed or electronic resources are used most. Only after these and similar questions are answered correctly can there be a fair distribution based on faculty. As an academic library, Özyeğin University Library takes part in the University's resource management. It acts based on education, training and research programs. When distributing resources, annual usage statistics of electronic resources are evaluated; Considering the usage rates of printed resources, it is decided to increase the number of copies or to include new editions in the collection. A certain amount must be allocated for the purchase of primary course resources, taking into account the beginning of the academic calendar. The process of obtaining primary course resources is managed according to both the usage rates of previous years and the number of students taking the course. Resource management in academic libraries is a process with critical steps. There should be a fair financial distribution and the resources received should be used in the most efficient way. Each resource received is an investment in the academic knowledge of the university; All choices should be made within the framework of this approach.
