Notlar Kemball acknowledges receipt of 50 copies of the Government Gazetter (22 July) containing the notification for commanders, masters, and nakhodas of native vessels trading between the westen coast of India and the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. (as described in f 232-37), with its native translations. Kemball discusses the possiblility of misinterpretation of the Arabic version of the notification by Arabic-speaking peoples, regarding the use of the term 'native vessels'. Accompanied with the original letter was an amended copy of the Arabic notification, not included in the volume. The Arabic amendments made have been marked on the copy letter, with reference to the pages and lines of the notification amended.
