El yazması, Alexander Hamilton'un (1767-1852) koleksiyonundan 1883 yılında elde edilen eserler arasında yer alıyordu. F ile ilgili bir nota göre. 1r, 1767'de Lucknow'dan satın alınmıştı. Alışılmadık yükseklikteki kopya kırmızı deriyle (kapaksız) ciltlenmiş, damgalanmış (pandantifli merkezi madalyon, köşe dekorasyonu; bordürde kartuşlar) ve altınla boyanmış. Önsöz ve şiirin başındaki başlıklar hiçbir zaman uygulanmamıştır. Sonlara doğru bazı başlıklar (kırmızı) eksik. Cilt, İran krallarını yaptıkları işler ile listeleyen tabloların ve isim ve terimler sözlüğünün eklendiği 'eski' önsözü içeriyor. Şiirin metni Arjasp'ın hikayesiyle bitmektedir. El yazması 42 adet metin illüstrasyonu içermektedir. Bazı yerlerde resim dizisi oldukça yoğun olup, kitabın son üçte birlik kısmında tek bir minyatür yer almaktadır. Karakteristik olarak, resimler metni yakından temsil etmiyor ve çoğu zaman çok kesin bir şekilde yerleştirilmiyor; çoğunlukla tasvir ettikleri sahnelerden çok önce veya çok sonra ortaya çıkıyorlar. Metne çok sayıda kenar eklemesi var. Bizhan ve Manizha'nın öyküsünü, bir sahnesi resimlenmiş, eklemeli bir Barzunama izliyor. Resimler arasındaki farklılıklar model farklılığından ve/veya el farklılığından kaynaklanabilir. Pek çok minyatür, figür boyamadaki hacim eksikliğinden, kadınların kıyafetlerinden ve erkek kostümü unsurlarından, bazen de düz mimariden veya arka planda altın bir tepeden kaynaklanan genel bir 'İran' görünümüne sahiptir. Bazı ayrıntılar, 16. yüzyılın Safevi çalışmalarından çok, 17. yüzyılın başlarındaki Orta Asya modellerine işaret ediyor. Diğer minyatürler Babür resminden etkilenmiş gibi görünüyor. Genel olarak sarının öne çıkması, manzara arka planı için yeşil, kahverengi ve morun ince uygulanmış koyu tonları, masmavi gökyüzü, saray mimarisinin detayları ve kale duvarlarının tasvir edilme şekli ve saray mensuplarının çoğu kostümleri Hint kökenini desteklemektedir.
