Örnek Metin The prized collection of biographies of Ṣūfīs and saints accompanied by a comprehensive study of Sufism, all penned by ʻAbd al-Raḥmān al-Jāmī (817-898/1414-1492). In this codex, the text is preceded by a short exhortation in Persian on the the mystical search, focusing on the theme of alchemy and opening: "ای سالكان بدانيد و اگاه باشيد كه شريعت همچو شمعيست كه راه مى نمايد با آنكه شمعى بدست اوری راه رفته شود و كاری كرده نكرد و در را آمدی اين رفتن تو طريقتست و چون بمقصود رسيدی اين حقيقست جهت اين گفته اند".
