There are interlinear Javanese translations and notes on morphology of the words (Arabic Sarf) in Javanese and Arabic, as well as vowels and diacritics that have been added to the Arabic text later., • Folios 181r, 198r are hooked in to the text block., • Javanese notes on flyleaves (folios 2r, 2v and 3v) and endpapers (folios 221v and 222 v)., • Written with the same hand in black and red. The text of Umm al-Barāhīn is written in red and the commentary in black., • Binding note: European-style laid paper with Dutch lion with a sword in a crowned medallion with and inscription of 'concordia res parvae crescunt'. Likely made by Jan, Claes and Aris van der Ley in Zaandik, Netherlands. Dluwang paper used in spine lining and first and last two folios. Leather binding with tooling, with fore edge flap.
Örnek Metin Part 8 of a multiple-text manuscript, a collective volume of eight texts bound together and written in one hand. Based on the interlinear Javanese translations and marginal comments, and the content of the volume, this manuscript was possibly used by a student as a text book taught in a pesantren (Islamic school) in Indonesia., The text contains Muḥammad ibn Yūsuf al-Sanūsī's commentary on his text known as Umm al-Barāhīn which is a short treatise on Islamic creed based on Abū al-Ḥasan al-Ashʿarī's doctrines.
