Decoration: Abbreviation symbols (mainly sigla and two-teeth stroke) rubricated ; horizontal strokes of some words accented with red ; textual dividers in the form of red inverted commas. Script: Naskh, characteristically Mamlūk ; small, elegant Egyptian or 'Syrian' hand in a medium line ; virtually serifless with slight effect of tilt to the left, some elongation of horizontal strokes, pointing mainly in distinct dots (three dots represented by a curved stroke), alif maqṣūrah pointed as yāʼ, foot of isolated lām seated flatly on the baseline with foot of final joined lām descending below the baseline (still quite flat). Layout: Written in 25 lines per page, occasionally divided to two columns to set off poetry ; frame-ruled (impression of ruling board evident).
