with faint watermark (star and halfmoon)؛ Ivory-coloured stiff paper. ff. 21-24 are of sand-coloured thick paper with 19 lines per p. in regular neskhi, black ink; written area 15,4 x 9,4 cm; catchwords. ff. 78-85 are written in careless neskhi, with a touch of riq‘a, in black ink; 17 lines per p.; some children's drawings in brown ink. The story of this work in prose might possibly go back to the Jihānnāma, a Chaghatay romance in verse by Ḥaydar Mīrzā Dughlat (1499/1500-1551), the hero of which is prince Fīrūzshāh; cf. Ahmet-Zeki Validi (Togan), Ein türkisches Werk von Ḥaydar-Mirza Dughlat. In: Bulletin of the School of Oriental Studies 8/4 (1937), 985-989 and H. F. Hofman, Turkish Literature. A Bio-bibliographical Survey, sect. III, pt. I, vol. 3, pp. 168-170. The orthography of the various parts of the text is inconsistent. It seems that fragments of the text from different manuscripts were bound into one volume. A single leaf of the Fīrūzshāh story was found among the many fragments of the library: 21,2 x 15,3 (15,3 x 9,8) cm; fairly careful neskhi. It shows a well executed Tughra, dated 1187 (beg. 25 March 1773) and 25 Zīlq. 1196 (2 Nov. 1782).
