یادداشت‌ها These earrings are said to have been bought at Trebizond in the 19th century. They are not typical of Turkish jewellery of the time, and are more reminiscent in style and technique of medieval Islamic jewellery. They may have been made in Syria in the 18th century; there is a similar, less sophisticated, pair in the Linden Museum at Stuttgart.
