یادداشت‌ها نسخه‌ای پرنور و تقریباً کامل از شاهنامه با کمتر از یک صفحه از مقدمه منثور آن که احتمالاً در قرن شانزدهم/هفدهم کپی شده است. مهر قطره‌ای گلکندا در صفحه اول به نظر می‌رسد که مهر محمدقلی قطب شاه، سلطان گلکنده، 161025-16125 است. C.E.] و کتیبه بعدی به تاریخ 1091 [1610/11 C.E.]. هیچ نشانی از زمان تکمیل نسخه خطی و اشاره ای به محل تولید آن وجود ندارد. کتاب پیشین در صفحه اول توسط Chas Wilkins، کتابدار شرکت هند شرقی با تاریخ 15 اوت 1806 امضا شده است که نشان دهنده منشأ نسخه خطی است. پیشانی دو صفحه ای که سلیمان بر تخت نشسته و بلقیس بر تخت نشسته را به تصویر می کشد، پس از آن یک تذهیب دو صفحه ای مجلل به رنگ طلایی و پلی کروم [2v, 3r]، که ابتدای مقدمه را مزین می کند و همچنین شامل کتابی از یک کتابخانه سلطنتی است. یازده مینیاتور زیر یافت شده در متن، انتخاب غیرعادی صحنه‌ها را نشان می‌دهد و به ترتیب ظاهر آنها را به تصویر می‌کشد: کیومرث به تخت نشسته، گوروی سیاووشا را اعدام می‌کند، کی خسرو توس را به رهبری لشکرکشی به توران منصوب می‌کند، کاموس با گیو و طوس می‌جنگد، نبردی در مقیاس تمام عیار بین ارتش‌های روسیه‌پیت، روس‌حرام‌ها و ارتش‌های بی‌سحرام از ایران. بر تخت نشستن، دومین کار اسفندیار: نبرد با شیرها، رستم کشتن شغاد قبل از مرگ و بهرام گور کشتن اژدهایی در هند. نسخه خطی با چرم چند رنگ با مدال و تزئینات تذهیب شده در جلو و پشت جلد و بر روی جلد صحافی شده است. این مورد در نمایشگاه ششصدمین سالگرد کتابخانه خطوط فکر: اکتشافاتی که جهان را تغییر داد گنجانده شد.

Cilt A multicoloured leather binding with gilded medallions and ornations. The spine was a later addition during a restoration in the 19th Century. The binding was restored in 1999-2002, when the codex underwent a throrough restoration and conservation in Cambridge University Library's Conservation Department by Kristine Rose and Deborah Farndell.
