یادداشت‌ها در سال 1858 از D.I.Dolgorukiy خریداری شد. هدیه ناصرالدین شاه به شاهزاده دولگوروکوف، سفیر روسیه در ایران (1845-1854). در f.1r چندین اثر از مهرهای صاحبان (چهار فارسی و شاهزاده دولگوروکی) وجود دارد. اولین برگه اضافی حاوی کتیبه ای است که ارائه MS به سفیر را اثبات می کند. هیچ اطلاعاتی در مورد تاریخ و محل مبدا ام اس وجود ندارد. با توجه به ویژگی های دیرینه نگاری آن می توان قدمت آن را به دهه های پایانی قرن شانزدهم بازگرداند. آخرین برگه به‌عنوان 672 و 682 مشخص شده‌است. متن با اندازه خوب نستعلیق با جوهر هندی، سرفصل‌ها به رنگ سفید در کارتن‌های مستطیلی، پر شده با تزئینات استادانه به رنگ‌های طلایی، آبی و چند رنگ. تعداد زیادی از صفحات چلیپا وجود دارد که فضاهای مثلثی با تزئینات طلا و گل پر شده است. صحافی قرن هجدهم نمونه ای شگفت انگیز از پاپیه ماشه لاکی اوایل قاجار است. هر دو طرف بیرونی و داخلی جلدها با چهار نقاشی نبرد تزئین شده اند - یکی در هر طرف. سوژه ها در بیرون عبارتند از: نادرشاه با ردیف توپخانه (پشت جلد)، شاه اسماعیل (جلد جلد). در ضلع داخلی صحنه هایی از شاهنامه به تصویر کشیده شده است: نبرد رستم و اسفندیار (جلوی جلد) و رستم عزاداری سهراب (پشت جلد). ام اس در وضعیت خوبی قرار دارد. در قرن 18 بازسازی شد. صفحه بندی اروپایی باید بعد از f.310 اصلاح شود (باید 320 باشد). کاغذ باکیفیت، زرد، کمی براق است و دارای کپی کامل از متن است. Ff.1v-17r شامل دیباچه بایسونغور در نسخه ای مفصل با الحاقات شاعرانه و طنز محمود (84 طعمه) است. مقدمه: افتیاح سوخان… شعر از ف. 17 ولت با شروع هنجاری. هیچ الحاق عمده ای وجود ندارد، اما برخی اضافات متنی وجود دارد که در اکثر نسخه ها وجود ندارد، به عنوان مثال: ff.500r-501r (28 طعمه). چند برگ از دست رفته است: بین ff.396 و 397، 407 و 408. صریح: Zi ma bar روان-i Muhammad durud / Hami ta buvad ruz-u shab-u tar-u pudThe MS دارای تزئینات فراوان است. Ff.1v-3r – سرلوح دو صفحه ای زمانی مجلل، با دو شمسه در دو طرف و تزئینات عریض عریض که تمام حاشیه ها را به رنگ های طلایی، آبی و پلی کروم پوشانده است. با این حال اکنون در وضعیت بسیار بدی قرار دارد: از آب رنج می برد، در جاهایی پاره شده، گوشه پایین سمت راست گم شده است. با دقت بازیابی شده است. همچنین ff. 16v-17r (پایان مقدمه)، 18v-19r و تمام صفحات دوتایی با مینیاتور با طرح‌های حاشیه‌ای گیاهی و حیوانی به رنگ طلا تزئین شده و متن با ابرهای طلایی با تزئینات گلدار احاطه شده است. صفحات چالیپا با پرکردن طلایی فضاهای مثلثی با نقوش با جوهر هندی و قرمز روی طلا تزئین شده است. 30 مینیاتور به شیوه دورن 334 اجرا شده است. موضوعات نقاشی اول و آخر با موضوعات شعر ارتباطی ندارد. احتمالاً آنها حامی ام اس را به تصویر می کشند. نقاشی ها تمام صفحه هستند و عمدتاً حاشیه ها را با ترکیبی پیچیده از صحنه های جمعی پوشش می دهند. رنگ زرد غالب است که یک ویژگی کاملاً نادر برای این دوره است. این رنگدانه تیره شد و رنگ سبز اکسید شده و تا حدی از بین رفته است (گیوزالیان و دیاکونوف، ص 53-57).
