Notes
It has been proposed that the positivist approach that is dominant in the educational system of Iran, contrasts theology and has been unable to solve the cultural, social, and economical problems of the country. The research employs the mixed approach of structure and agent in sociology to answer the following two questions: Why is the positivist approach still dominant in the country three decades after the Islamic revolution, despite the existing sensitivities on the issue? Why have the numerous attempts to produce localized and religious science been fruitless? The research findings show that the best case scenario is that reproducing a positivist view of science in educational design takes places unconsciously by social constructs rather than by the will of the dominant system. Additionally, an absolute philosophical treatment of religious science and neglecting the sociological and policy dimensions is the main obstacle in formation of religious science in Iran.
